I have watched the Nunes presser several times.
He said that _wiretapping inside Trump Tower_ didn’t happen. Doesn’t mean conversations within Trump Tower were not collected by other/remote means. He did not contradict information gathering, electronic surveillance on individuals in other venues, again, by other means. We already know the server in question was not physically inside Trump Tower.(There are unanswered questions for me about additional servers and routers, based on the Webb investigations into the Awan/DNC Intel Committee members collusion). He also said he saw information that was disturbing. And that the NSA has been slow-walking handing over the actual documents.
Articles and descriptions have now begun appearing that cast doubt on Nunes. Is that because he has something? He immediately took the information he had to Trump. The Montgomery intel is 2 years old. Corsi and Falwell have shown it to Trump before Nunes went to Trump. IMO, Nunes has something else and it pertains to the crux of this: unmasking.
Casting doubt precedes actual smears. Schiff immediately questioned if Nunes had mishandled classified information by presenting it first to the POTUS (target) and not to the Committee (compromised investigators). Throughout, Schiff has wrung his hands and clutched his pearls at not getting *enough* information ahead of various revelations, including twice from Comey.
I think all the progs have left is accusation of mishandling of classified intel, which does not apply to POTUS, who, by law, has the final say on classification.
It comes down to accusations of illegal unmasking of incidental collection of American citizens against allegations of revealing classified intel to the public. Note that minority members of the Committee have probably leaked reams of classified intel to their political superiors and the press.
It’s like people criticizing Gowdy for not immediately prosecuting a liar, when Gowdy’s brief is simply to interrogate, establishing responses on the record.
Nunes is aware he is standing on a landmine. People said he looked frightened in the 2nd presser. To me, he looked suspicious. He has verified for himself that not one of the minority on the Committee is to be trusted, he may not be certain who to trust among the majority and he certainly is skeptical of the press.
My hope is that Trump goes back as far as the 1960s.

I’m not saying Nunes doesn’t have anything. I believe he’s been threatened as is afraid. Going to Trump was for his own protection. No one knows what he told Trump. He may have told him he’s going to have to pull back. Thanks for all the info.
