A strange case. Whatever happens, it doesn’t accurately reflect the lie that all white cops are hunting black men. Tragic, yes.

He pushed her too hard then tried to back down and tried to return to his vehicle (big no-no). She was rattled by their confrontation and fired her pistol when the Tazer went off beside her.

Wasnt there PCP found? Cant remember.

Regardless the video commentary was clear that he was engaging with her and not complying before her backup arrived.

If she would have shot him dead when he was in total defiance of her authority on the passenger side of her car there would have been no questions.

Tell me this: Why did none of the other officers shoot?

Usually you’ll see a video with a bunch of cops, and they’ll all start shooting simultaneously when the suspect does this or that.

How come the other officers with their guns trained on Crutcher didn’t think it was a ‘shoot now’ situation?

Women are more apt to shoot because they are mostly smaller than the characters thye face. When My daughter and I were pulled, basically for having an out of town tag off the I-State in Tampa, the officer was a women no taller than my 5 foot daughter and she had her hand on her gun the whole time. Her partner, a large man hung back and let her “take care of it.” When daughter had an asthma attack from the stress the woman got flustered and threatened to cuff her and put her in the back of the cruiser until the man stepped in and asked if we needed an EMT and essentially told the woman to stand down.

She was alone in the original altercation and everyone else showed up from her ‘officer needs assistance’ call guns and tasers drawn. There is a police chopper video of this IIRC. There was an exchange between her and the driver and they ended up on the passenger side of her cruiser, her gun drawn and shouting at him and him not complying with her commands. Then he turns and starts to walk back to his car and when the cavalry gets there he is at the drivers door. Her, another cop have guns drawn on him, one cop has a tazer. He starts fiddling around with the door of the van, cop yells “TAZER” and fires and when he did, so did she.

She screams over the radio in a paniced voice “SHOTS FIRED”! On the full video you can see the officer beside her “back her out” of the situation.

He had obviously advanced on her and her gun is drawn for a reason. I would give her the benefit of the doubt if she was alone defending herself as best she could. Then he turns and his hands are up but he is returning to his vehicle which she should not be letting him do. He was big guy and I think she was just startled or freaked out at the situation, maybe flinched when the tazer went off or was still pissed at the guy for scaring her and she meant to shoot him? What just a few seconds earlier would have been a justified shooting changes rapidly into murder.

The police in the chopper says, "He's got his hands up for her now". This indicates to me he was not being compliant with her. Its a downhill clusterF&@k after that.

The very well trained officer can tell he is a "bad dude" and "may be on sumthin'" from way up in the chopper--(/S), but its clear to him that he is doing things he shouldnt be doing.

Watch the other office back her out of the situation at 3:00.

From Wiki:

Autopsy results released by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner indicated that Terence Crutcher had “acute phencyclidine (PCP) intoxication” at the time of the shooting. The report stated that Mr. Crutcher had 96 nanograms per milliliter of PCP in his blood at the time of death. The report also indicated that tenocyclidine (TCP), a psychostimulant and hallucinogen which is more potent than PCP, was present.
