Paul Ryan: Failure of Obamacare Replacement Makes Tax Reform Harder
breitbart ^ | JOHN CARNEY

Posted on 03/25/2017 8:46:50 AM PDT by davikkm

The White House tried very hard Friday to send a clear message that the success of President Donald Trump’s tax and infrastructure agenda does not turn on the fate of the Obamacare replacement bill. House Speaker Paul Ryan, only minutes after pulling his health care bill, appeared to at least partially contradict that.

“Yes. This does make tax reform more difficult,” Ryan said. “But it does not in any way make it impossible.”

Even though Ryan went on to say the House would “proceed with tax reform,” he appeared to be far less optimistic than the two top Trump administration economic officials who spoke earlier on Friday. White House budget director Mick Mulvaney and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin both had essentially the same message Friday morning: plans for tax reform, job creation, trade deals, and infrastructure spending remain intact regardless of what happen to the health care bill.

Standing on the White House lawn Friday morning, Mulvaney told CNBC that President Trump decided to stop negotiating with lawmakers over the healthcare bill because he “has other things he wants to do.”

“He wants to get tax reform done. He wants an infrastructure bill approved. He’s got other jobs programs moving through the White House,” Mulvaney said.

Stand in the way of REAL tax reform...Check!

Stand in the way of REAL Immigration reform...On deck!

Paul Ryan is doing EXACTLY what his Masters want him do.

QUESTION: When will Trump DEAL WITH THIS Disloyalty?

So you’re really no different than the Democrats, isn’t that true?

If Paul Ryan can’t handle it, find someone who can.

Ryan is handling it quite well for the Elites.
That is who he works for.

Ryan’s gotta go. The only problem is finding someone to replace him. And that might be a bigger problem than we think. Where is this generation’s Newt Gingrich?

Saying this in public is just further proof that Paul Ryan is a horse’s ass.

Frankly, this just smacks to me a convenient excuse to set oneself up for failure - clearly with no intention of success to start with.

He can play that game if he wants to, but his little Eddie Haskell/Eddie Munster ass is the one who will come out with short straw.

I’ll see his ass tanked as Speaker or any substantive role in the House before I EVER think this man is on my side. The only ‘side’ he is on is his.

He can take his little smirk and cutie pie crap and stick it up his ass.

‘If Paul Ryan can’t handle it, find someone who can.’

The FC needs to call a press conference and make this point. Tell the world that if Ryan is going to use the failure of his ghastly bill as an excuse to delay Trump’s agenda, Ryan needs to be ousted NOW.

They do that, and I’ll be a FC cheerleader for—to use Ryan’s words—the foreseeable future.

The Republicans have squandered their opportunities in the House and continue to do so.

Ryan should do the right thing and resign. Including his deputies. All of them.

Again, the feckless Republicans SURRENDER IN ADVANCE.

Again, the feckless Republcans shout, 'We don't know how to lead.'

Again, the feckless Republicans claim, 'We don't know how to govern. We just want to play nice with the Democrats so they might like us better.

Again, the feckless Republicans pull defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Again, the feckless Republicans are setting themselves up for a legislative slaughter in the 2018 election.

Yes, the replacement for Ryan is a real challenge. The Freedom Caucus is a quite small contingent of the House Republicans, and the AHCA did not only lose the Freedom Caucus. It lost a lot of moderates as well.
