It’s Schumer’s usual .. “I’ll jusst threaten the little people and they will cower and get rid of this exceptionally qualified candidate” .. and the LEFT will win again.

If the Repubs don’t go NUCLEAR, they will no longer be in office. PLAN ON IT.

In the interests of you wackos having facts:

Number of Dem Senators up for reelection in 2018: 25 (incl’s Independents)

Number of those from Trump states (not Red states, Trump states): 10

Number of GOP senators up and also from blue states: 1, Heller in Nevada, who won with only 46% in 2012.

Of the 10, number who were elected with 53% or more of the vote: 4 (Casey, PA — Manchin, WV — McCaskill, MO — Nelson, FL)

Note Jeff Flake won in AZ with only 49%.

So of the 10 we have a good shot at only 6. And we’ll likely lose at least 1 GOP seat, probably 2. Net, 4.

Y’all looking for Filibuster proof in 2018 are essentially delusional.

Addendum, Tammy Baldwin in WI won with 51%. Trump won WI by less than 1%. It’s not like she’s from an overwhelming Trump state.

Her situation is a great deal different from Sherrod Brown in Ohio, who also won with 51%, but faces a Trump margin of 8ish%.

And before you declare 53% too small a margin to be thought of as huge, Liz Warren won her seat with only 54%, and no one here would expect her to lose.

I can’t see a single reason not to invoke the Harry “Nuclear” Reid option, and soon so we can have a 5-4 Court in April.

What do we have to lose? McConnell’s pride at beating Schumer the old fashioned way?

Wouldn’t it make future conservative SCOTUS confirmations that much easier?

No it’s a threat, unless we agree NOT to use the nuke option.

They are sitting the table to cut a deal guaranteeing they can filibuster the next pick which will change the course of the court. We won’t filibuster if you agree not to use the nuke option on the next vacancy. This is just the opening shot into getting that idiot McWeasal to sign on to this sell out.

Just say no Mitch and push the red button.

The Democrats know they can’t allow Trump to get a conservative Justice for the SC since it will end their rule by Federal Judges.

Making Senators subject to recall just gums things up from the start. As soon as any conservative gets elected Senator the Radicals will start a recall movement. Hence, those elected would be even more afraid of doing what’s right than they are now.

This would be a further weakening of the Republic through amplifying democratic tendencies. We know this was what the Founders believed. And today, the votes of the masses overcome those of the taxpayers. Their fear is illustrated
by the fact that they believed this in spite of having a tiny percentage of the citizenry eligible to vote. Virginia’s colonial electorate did not exceed 5% of the population.

The interest of each state is a longer term thing than that of an individual and the Senate was intended to represent States, similar in function to the House of Lords.

“Well, unless 8 Democrats cross the isle, time to use the nuclear option - and I’d use it for all bills and not just USSC.”

As the old saying goes, “Fool me once, shame on you....fool me twice, shame on ME”.

If truly conservative Republicans haven’t been convinced by now that those on the left are hypocrites and possess no integrity, they belong in another occupation.

Use the nuclear option and use it often....for the sake of our nation!

Apparently you believe Trump was elected dictator since he has no constitutional authority to replace anyone in the legislature.

And the Love Losing caucus in the House is doing its best to sabotage Trump NOT the GOPe.

Most won’t get that far and for the few that do, they can be defeated at the ballot box. A Senator can either be strengthened, weakened, or removed as a result.

Recall of state legislators and governors works very well. It will work just as well with US Senators.

Judges can only be removed by impeachment, or death not by the Executive. Congress has some control imo through the “Exceptions Clause” over the cases the USSC can rule on. I doubt that the judiciary can easily be negated.

Trump’s deadly enemy has raised its head and revealed itself.
No matter what law is passed it will immediately by stayed by the 9th district. Hence, his entire program will be destroyed. I’m waiting for the suits vs the Fence and vs anti-Global warming BS. I have no doubt that they are coming.

They could have nominated Vladimir Lenin and he would have been approved on a 85-10 or some such vote. But Lenin does mean Law so he would probably be better than any of the women of the court especially the Old Harpy.

Reality will set in the Senate and the rule dropped there, it is not protection from the “mob”. Nor was there one when the rule was adopted. Calhoun knew that new states added would eventually give the Anti-Slavers the upper hand and laws contrary to their wishes would be passed. Hence, a means of thwarting the majority which was turning against him and the system he represented.

The excesses of the mob was limited to a Jacksonian party getting out of hand and roughing up the White House. Most of these, in fact, favored slavery in any case.

Of course they are. Remember this you cowardly SOB’s in the GOP who voted for Sotomayor and Kagen because “the President should get his pick.”

The Republican Party needs to go the way of the Whigs.
