NEW YORK (AP) — Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz presided over his last annual shareholder meeting as head of the company Wednesday by standing by its pledge to hire refugees and expanding on previously announced goals to hire veterans and at-risk youth.
The moves underscored the progressive image Schultz has helped cultivate for Starbucks as he prepares to cede the CEO job next month to Starbucks President Kevin Johnson.
Schultz, who will remain executive chairman, defended the promise on refugees to a shareholder who criticized his willingness to have the company's reputation "take a beating" over it. The pledge came after President Donald Trump's executive order temporarily banning refugees from seven Muslim majority nations, and had prompted some calls for a boycott of Starbucks.

As bad as Starbucks coffee is, I don’t think that it will improve all that much with the addition of random bodily fluids.

They will be able to save money hiring refugees by not having to stock the employee restroom with toilet paper.
Since business will decrease they can convert half of their tables to lodging for the refugees and their families and set up a prayer room.

I have spent exactly $28 at Starbucks since it’s inception. From a $30 gift card that was sent to me. Their coffee sucks.
Howard Schultz should PERSONALLY house a family or two from Yemen and Somalia which has not been vetted.

Funnily enough, BOR was just talking about Starbucks hiring youths and Vets. I was sure I had previously heard he was hiring ‘refugees’, not youths and Vets. I had also read that Starbucks revenue was tanking because of the refugee statement.
If there is a wrong side to an issue, BORe can find it.

Was in Walmart today, all Starbutt’s coffee products were on sale. Pretty sure I know why.
I will never again shake hands with a Muslim. To the very best of my knowledge I never have before anyway. Now there is a damned good reason not to start.
That’s a relief, I’d hate it if they went all patriotic and I had to actually drink that swill.
