Chelsea and Ivanka are equivalents to you?

Nope. But it still does not mean anyone with zero formal position should be given anything close to a top secret security clearance. Bad idea.

No one here is trying to defend Gorelick. The president is going to have to at some point. We need to make a big hue and cry over this and get that miserable shrew out of our White House.

Unless she finally does the honorable thing and offs herself at long last.

As an advisor to the President, wouldn’t her husband Jared Kushner have a security clearance? Hillary probably didn’t have security clearance as First Lady, but she managed to be in charge of healthcare, and have access to FBI files, etc. Chances are, because the libs are out to get any Trump family member, isn’t it possible Ivanka applied for the security clearance in order to keep the libs at bay in the future?

A Business Day article says that Gorelick is "an independent adviser to the Ivanka M. Trump Business Trust."

Obama’s mother-in-law had her own Suite of Rooms and Servants at the White House

I don’t want a liberal pushing liberal programs, along with her lifelong Democrat husband, pushing more liberal stuff and bringing more liberal staffers into the WH.

That she is using Jamie Gorelick as an advisor on ethics just says it all.

But I also suspect that Jamie will thereby know and help to set up whatever available vulnerabilities re: Ivanka and Jared and conflict of interest to try to bring down Trump (via impeachment if the GOP loses the House in 2018).

Yeah—and Congress passed new anti-nepotism rules out of it.

Gorelick has also been credited with advising her on ethics rules for the WH—so already there’s an intermingling.

Let’s hope not. I firmly believe that just because somebody was once liberal doesn’t mean that they cannot change their outlook on things and I think Ivanka would like to see her father’s succeed as would her husband...just my opinion. Maybe I’m naive or ever hopeful but I really don’t think that President Trump is going to renege on any of his promises to how he wants this country to be turned around, position completely right of center and move forward through history.

Sorry, she needs to be kept 1,000 miles away from anything to do with Government!

Agree!

But we know that she’s out there pushing dreadful, liberal programs—with the top one being a massive (half trillion in 10 years) childcare subsidy for parents making up to $300K a year. She also wants a federally mandated parental leave. And she’s whining about women not getting equal pay, doing stuff like teaming up with little Trudeau for some joint American-Canadian women in business booster council, etc.

She is a Manhattan liberal who wants to impress her Manhattan liberal friends, and maybe is setting herself up for the presidency (as a Democrat?) someday? But that’ll never work. She’d do best just having family dinners with Dad when he hasn’t got a work dinner going—and staying out of policy, meetings, etc. The last thing she needs is an “office” in the WH.

Oh, and in case you haven’t noticed, his first major legislation is Obamacare 2.0, for which he has sought out the personal advice of Obama’s original architect of the bill three times.

That is, he has already caved to what is looking more and more like a Ryan/Kushner presidency.

Gorelick is slime who made it possible that the “wall of intelligence” was up. This “wall” prevented intelligence to be shared. This was a reason 9/11 could have been prevented. This POS was on the 9/11 commission! WTF is President Trump doing? BTW, Ivanka needs to go find a hobby or go sell stuff. This is absurd. If she is “eyes and ears” than 1000 people will also be “eyes and ears”. OPSEC is so vitally important and it is lacking in this administration. I never thought I would see this after Obama.

Nothing illegal about the First Daughter’s office and security c!earance, but one must question the appropriateness of the action given that the long knives from both parties are out to get the President. Why give you enemies any more ammunition?

OH MY GOD.. Every single thing this guy does is put under a microscope. It’s only been 60 days. They are hoping we cave under the pressure, but it’s just making me madder. I am gearing up for the inevitable civil war.
