The cover of Paris Match magazine late last year featured a handsome, 30-something man strolling arm in arm with an attractive blond woman in her 60s. The same couple were on the cover of a summer issue, holding hands at the beach, and on a spring edition dressed up for a state dinner.
As France gears up for presidential elections in April (and probably a runoff in May), this unusual pair could help prevent it from becoming the next country to succumb to xenophobic populism. He’s the upstart presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron, and she’s his former high school French teacher, Brigitte Trogneux, now his close adviser and wife.

If you tried to read out his resume for the past 15 years....there’s nothing there to say qualification for any executive job or leadership position, that’s the odd thing about Macron. He’s an ‘empty suit’.
If you go through all of the French candidates of the past forty years, he’s got the most marginal resume of any. Then compare against UK, German, or Italian candidates...he’s still the least qualified guy ever.
He does give good speeches, but other than that...he has no proven skills for the job.

The guy has held four jobs since he graduated from some gov’t academy for gifted future bureaucrats. Note, he has a degree in philosophy (very useful, you know). He went onto get a masters in public affairs.
His first real job? He was an inspector of finances (2004-2008). After that, he went to work for the Rothschild Banking empire, as an investment guy....holding several portfolios. For four years, he did that and made a ton of money. No one ever says how.
Around 2012, he goes to job three....insider position with the Hollande’s staff (age 34). Two years later, he’s appointed to a minister position. After two years there....he resigned and signed up to run for President.
Actually, he’s never done a day of community work in his life as far as one can note.
