During the opening day of confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) called the NRA an “extreme organization” that stands in the way of getting “military-style assault weapons off our streets.”
Feinstein’s NRA comment came after she voiced her expectations that the Supreme Court will have final say on air and water pollution and just before she addressed employers who “[discriminate] against workers.”
CSPAN 2 aired Feinstein’s comments: “It is the Supreme Court that will have final word … [on] whether the NRA and other extreme organizations will be able to block common sense gun regulations, including those that keep military-style assault weapons off our streets.”

I hear you. But, what she stated is the current reality. The SCOTUS has the final word until a future SCOTUS rules differently. Congress prefers it that way.

At more than 5 million members, the NRA is the largest civil rights (and oldest) group in America. The libs hate it when we call the NRA a civil rights group BTW.
As a proud life member of the NRA I am honored to be in Diane Feinstein’s basket of deplorables. If the press was even handed, they would now take her statements about the NRA being an extreme organization and go to everyone of the red state democrats and ask them, do you agree with your Democrat colleagues statement about the NRA being an extremist organization? They’ll never do it though.

I love Gorsuch’s answers - He makes more sense in NOT GIVING THE SENATORS AN ANSWER than anything Comey came up with in that hearing yesterday. His answers were all based on politics - Gorsuch is looking ahead to what may come up in the court and declines to give his opinions now. I love it!! Feinstein had to keep moving on to another question when she didn’t get what she wanted this morning.
BTW Diane - how many street shootings have been used with those horrible, awful, automatic rifles? So she went through trauma with the shooting at the SF City Hall years and years ago and can’t get over it. Too bad - why does the entire country have to suffer through her phobias?

Yeah, they’ll be back. It may take a while, but if Trump plays it right (and I have to believe that he’ll do that - that there is one very smart dude), then it won’t be until about 2029 or 2033 that we have to worry much. By then the continent will be on the verge of sinking several feet due to the sheer tonnage of firearms and ammo accumulated by the American public.
