Halls of Karma ^ | 3/16/17 | Les Roediger

WASHINGTON (AP) – at 12:15pm today President Trump disclosed that he has reached an agreement with Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico, which provides for the sale of substantially all of the State of California to the country of Mexico. President Trump noted that this deal, which he claims “is his YUGEst real estate deal ever” is a win-win for everyone involved.

The two billionaires, who have clashed in the past, set aside their differences and negotiated the deal in which Mexico will pay for the wall, in exchange for the State of California.

I regarded the proposal as fatuous, so preposterous that it was unworthy of serious comment. So I chose to make a joke about a proposal that is itself just plain silly.

"… Demonstrating absurdity with absurdity…"

Besides, I could not resist taking a slap at the People's Republic of California.

It has been 33 years since California has has a national level Conservative present solid ideals here. It has been that long since the party has made any pretense of being competitive here.

The majority of fundraising here goes out of state to support party efforts in other states.

Presidents zoom fly in for massive fundraiser dinners. Then they fly right out taking five times or more what was spent by Pete Simon who ran for governor in 2002.

Yeah, I guess you could say I’m a poor audience for this type of humor.

Californication is being purchased by Communist Chinese (in tremendous quantities, 90 percent of home purchase transactions in some cities and at least 30 percent in many many more)

but populated largely by Mexicans (while many of the communist Chinese buyers eventually do go live in California, many MORE of them never do...they’re just buying CA houses as a means of diversifying their portfolios)

so it will be fascinating to watch whether the Commie Chinese Legal Titles......or the Mexicans’ Actual Physical presence..........which will eventually
“win” the prize of CA

what is clear is that the Mexicans do not have to purchase CA, they are already taking it over by their physical presence

Nobody’s selling the jewel in the crown to the OrkThugs of Aztlan.

They leave, we stay, or there’s war.

There are some good computer based Spanish learning programs available. Anybody left in California is effectively a Democrat or an illegal, whatever he might call himself.

No.......you don’t really understand. You think this
“sensitivity “ is about the libtards taking over the
state. It isn’t. We can always hate those libtards.
What disgusts us is fellow FReepers who post as though
California conservatives do not exist at all. And,
it is just plain idiotic to suggest that all of us are
in a a position to relocate.

Texas and Florida provided the most votes for Trump
in November, 2016 of all the states. The third top
Trump vote provider?.......California.
Had Trump even come to California then the state
might have even surpassed Texas and Florida yet still
have lost to Clinton.

Used to love Polock and moron jokes in the 60s. I was 15, and that helped.

I get your point.

If I worried about what others thought of my point of view, I wouldn’t say much here.

There are some topics that aren’t funny to me.

This is one of them.

The deal is that we sell California to Mexico, right? How much do we have to pay them?

I think President Trump is a lot smarter than our president was when we bought California from the Mexicans in 1848. The purchase was between $15 million to $19 million. But we didn't have to pay anything, as we had conquered Mexico in a war and could have kept the whole country. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo forgave $15 million in Mexican debts to the U.S., and assumed $3.25 million in Mexican debts owed to U.S. citizens. We also paid some war reparations to repair their country after our invasion into Mexico City. We could have just taken the California land without forgiving debts.

I think to be fair, for an exchange of California to Mexico, that Mexico takes back all the Mexican people in the U.S. Clear them all out of the U.S., then we can talk. Better yet, get them to agree to take all our liberals, Mexican or not.

I suspect it will take more than money to solve California's problem. Getting rid of Illegal Trespassing Criminals ("Undocumented Immigrants" is a stupid phrase) would be a good first step. Then I suspect the education system would need an overhaul.

Each state has it's problems to address.

California is owned outright by the Democrats and the unions.

The run of the mill Californian that disagrees with how the state is run today is powerless.

As you state, it is an issue of illegal aliens. It’s also an issue of corrupted processes, and national intransigence toward the state.

For Senator Boxer’s replacement, we had two Democrats on the ballot, no Republican.

The Republican Party couldn’t have cared less. Not one peep outbox them

And so it goes.

I appreciate the nice note.

You sure as hell can’t be talking to the 3.9 million
of us Californians who voted for Trump!

Trump camped out in Florida. Had he spent ANY time in
California then we just might have provided more Trump
votes than Florida. Save your asshat jokes for liberals,
not conservative Californians.

If you are a Clamper as you claim then you damned well
know that those conservative Californians you interviewed
were urbans not rurals. Try that characterization in
the Motherlode and see where it goes.

Trump could have hit the state with two or three swings through the state for nine to twelve events, pulling in a few hundred thousand supporters.

The buzz would have made him much more competitive.

Hispanics seeing Hispanics attending would have moved others.

Trump won. That is the most important thing, because California was’t the only state on the line.

The other 49 stated would have had to deal with Hillary.

California would not be as lopsided as it is, if the party hadn’t abandoned it.

Californians support this forum folks.

The ones who do are not Democrats. They’re here supporting the same things you do.

Are you a Democrat?

California needs the union’s support to right itself.

Like it or not, the union needs California as well.

“Breaking this nation up simply isn’t a funny premise.”

Thirty some odd years ago, it would be very funny to just about everyone.

But today this could come to reality. Yes, this is satire, but there are those on the left that will not see it that way, but rather see it as the first chuck of America to be destroyed.

So you do have a point.
