Sad news. Just received word that NYTexan passed away today. I believe it was a heart attack, but I don't have details yet.
Prayers up for his family and love ones.

It did not occur to me until I laid in bed thinking about his passing that he was the guy with the equipment to grab screen shots off the TV and post to the NASCAR threads...

He was a good man and was loved by many here.

I did not know him but I can see how he was loved enormously in the down thread. Thank God for such persons, for such examples. May we all aspire to be such, to abide in Him.
May merciful God grant strength and peace of mind to John's family and friends in this difficult time, and God Bless.
I was smiling through tears last night, thinking how
impatient he was trying to get us all to the shoot, breakfast, etc.
He used to say it was like herding cats!
Thank you so much for all you have done to notify his Freeper family.
I know you are heartbroken too, and it can’t have been
easy for you.
I am surprised and dismayed at his brothers reluctance
to tell us of his funeral arrangements.
Maybe he’s just in shock too, yet.
Thank you. I know how much John cared for you too! He wanted us all to do a road trip up to see you soon! His brother’s reluctance came as yet another shock..especially after having taken the call from police. It just made it all the more sadder. I probably should not have shared it, but I was in shock last night and upset. I am praying for his brother and family too. I am sure they are in shock. Hugs to you. I know you are heartbroken.
John was a good and caring man and was rarely without a smile. He could whip up a bad ass batch of Margaritas in ten minutes and then get up the next morning and take three hours to cook breakfast. He hosted TheMom and I in his home before numerous shoots too.
A really good friend who never asked for anything in return.
The shoots will never be the same without him.
Never.

I know.
He had a heart as big as the sky!
He was a big bear of a guy and used
to give us bone crushing hugs!
He is a huge loss to us, but we got
a chance to know him well, and we are all better for it!
Prayers for him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in Peace.
