He was waving that thing around way to much for my comfort. I would have walked out early.

Ok that guy is dangerous ....did you see at the start when he was waving around the gun and that other guy had to get out of the way?
Next time try using an unloaded gun for the demonstration.

I saw that the other day, there was another one a few months ago of an instructor showing the dude how the laser works, he waves his hand in front of it...

This guy should have been ejected from the range and told to never come back.

Yup. Unloaded handling is appropriate at this phase of the instruction. Don’t load until ready to shoot.
To be fair, he had the firearm pointed skyward when showing the class the other side of his grip. Still, I would have turned around AWAY from the students, so they didn’t get as nervous as they clearly did.

Yes. Loaded weapons at firing line ONLY, aimed downrange ONLY, finger on trigger ONLY when firing. Plastic demo pistols are typically used for training.
Hope that guy was banned from the range, and did some serious thinking about his attitude and WTF he did, and might have done. That kinda crap gives shooters a bad name.

I’ve been preaching that for >20 years. Even got a letter printed in the local big city fish wrap on the subject, commenting on a ND which they had called an AD in a story about cop A shooting cop B in an evidence storeroom using a sequestered shotgun. It wasn’t as horrible as it might have been, just a few pellets in the arm, but clearly a ND.
No such thing. It was, however, a NEGLIGENT discharge.
