Schumer Threatens Government Shutdown Over Border Wall
Frontpage ^ | March 14, 2017 | Matthew Vadum

After Democratic lawmakers’ years of shrieking and televised temper tantrums over how shutting down the federal government somehow approximates treason, Democrats have suddenly embraced the tactic in their quest to keep the nation’s borders wide open for Muslim terrorists and illegal aliens.

Democrats are threatening to force a shut-down of the government after it runs out of operating funds after April 28.

Outnumbered in both houses of Congress, and facing a Republican in the White House for the first time in eight years, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and other Democrats say they will oppose efforts to finance President Trump’s planned border wall in spending legislation needed to keep the government open for business. Adding favored projects to must-pass spending bills, instead of dealing with the projects as freestanding legislation outside the budget process, is a time-honored way of getting things done in Congress. Both parties do it when in the majority.

Can you imagine a government shutdown under Trump? The military gets paid and congress doesn't. Oh, and all the parks stay open.

Please do it, schmuck spooger, President Trump is in charge now.

Interesting that the LA Times did this. Lou Dobbs reported this on CNN and it cost him his job. The only network we would see this on would be FOX. All the others are staying away from it. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, this should be of great interest to you!

Just One State - be sure and read the last part... try for 3 times.

This is only one State... If this doesn’t open your eyes, nothing will!

From the L.A. Times.

1. 40% of all workers in LA County (10.2 million people) are working for cash; and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.

(Donald Trump was right)

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on
Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals; they are here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal
aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in LA are Spanish-speaking.

10. In LA County, 5.1 million people speak English; 3.9 million, speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people, in LA County.)

(All 10 of the above facts were published in the Los Angeles Times.)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States’ annual population growth, (and over 90% of California, Florida and New York), results from immigration. Also, 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

We are fools for letting this continue.

The areas of government that are shut down are already designated. They are the non-essential parts, about 15% of govt services.

Around 85% of the government keeps right on running during a “shutdown

They did about 10 years ago, but someone told me spending bills are only good for two years, then need to be reauthorized.

If Chuckie thinks we can do with the non-essential parts of the government, the Trump should just threaten to permanently shut down.

Ok then. The dems gotta remember that we could probably go a lot longer on shutdown than they could. And we’d do it smiling.

Dear Mister (please take "mister" as an insult) Schumer.

Your "threat" is a bluff; it's amateur theater to which we will not cower.

There is no legitimate to let in illegals, and one suspects you Dems actually just want an unending supply of totally dependent, and indentured (and illegal) voters, n'est ce pas?

This time, shut down the really unessentital services. Like all the support to Congress, and the parts of the government not covered by the Constitution.

And Bill O’Bloviate, that crap about “...promote the general welfare...” is a load of liberal elitist crap!

Good! Since at least half of the gov't is completely useless and harmful, shutting down 17% of it would be "a nice start".

I think Mr. Trump and Mr. Schumer have significantly different ideas about what is in the 83% of the US gov't that is "essential".

......well, the Democrats are better street fighters than the pubbies, at least in the past 8 years.

So, hopefully with Trump adding some spine to McConnell and Ryun and their minions, the pubs will come out on top of this fight.
