In his first address to Congress, President Donald Trump rattled off a litany of supposed threats to the United States immigrants, Muslims and regulations among them. But on climate change the greatest real existential threat facing humanity Trump didn't say a single word.
In short, denying the reality of climate change is now the official policy of the United States government. If there was ever any doubt, Trump's Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt made it explicit when he told reporters recently that he "would not agree" that carbon emissions are "a primary contributor to the global warming that we see."
That denial puts us at odds with scientific consensus and with most of the world's governments. We see this dangerous denial at work both in Trump's policies and appointments.
With the Trump administration waging war against the Earth's atmosphere and its most vulnerable people, we can get our cities and states to do some of what Trump won't and undo some of what he does.

Trump rattled off a litany of supposed threats to the United States ...
Well, at least the article’s impartial :)
But if obama TOLD the troops they were fighting FOR the environment, and Trump now wants to FIGHT AGAINST the environment, which side will the army take?
Actions, not words.
I'll believe it when the administration withdraws from the Paris Climate Scam.
Trump's War on the Climate!
How does anyone declare war on Climate?!!
I stopped reading riiiiiiiiight there.
Basav Sen joined the Institute for Policy Studies as the Climate Justice Project Director in February 2017. His work focuses on climate solutions at the national, state, and local level that address racial, economic, gender and other forms of inequality.Prior to joining IPS, Basav worked for about 11 years as a strategic corporate campaign researcher at the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW). He has also had experience as a campaigner on the World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), and global finance and trade issues. As a member of a grassroots neighborhood-based environmental group, he has been involved in local struggles on energy justice in Washington DC.
The "Institute for Policy Studies" is one of the most far-left "think tanks" and lobbying organizations in the country.
It would be hard to think of an equivalently far-right organization. The John Birch Society, possibly.
US News & World Report identifies him simply as a "Contributor."
Well what do these scientists actually specifically predict? Most of it sounds like the conspiracy nuts.
there’s a million lists of the top 100 predictions that never happened regarding global warming.
Sounds like his entire life’s work, livelihood, and reason for existing, are all tied to the climate change myth.
Invested much? haha
Maybe, but not Scientific Facts.
Somehow, humans have managed to survive in all these places, even with the 89 degree F difference. Fairbanks Alaska has experienced more than 150 degree F temperature difference between winter and summer extremes.
And these AGW idiots are in a panic over a computer projected rise of 3 degree F by then end of the century.

Stop the government grants and see how fast these “scientists” change their minds....
“Existential” has to be the most overused word in journalism. I’ve got another word for them, try “Overrated”.
I have never heard anyone anywhere deny the reality of climate change.
What is genuinely disputed are: (1) the severity of climate change in our lifetimes and (2) whether climate change is caused by human activity.
In other words, the climate always has changed and always will change. The issue is whether we can (or should try to) do anything about it.
In the 1970s, it was the ice age. Then it was global whining. Now its commie change. They couldn’t find good ways to blame the free world for cooling, so they said we’re warming the earth and you can’t get away. So, what about the cold we’re having the past few years? Now its commie change. They’ll blame the freedom lovers for any weather changes. No matter what happens, its the fault of free wo/men.
Would the author be happier if Trump added AGW to his list of threats, “supposed” threats that is? I’m ok with called AGW a “supposed” threat and call the other threats real threats.
Amen to that!!
Terrorism and illegals are Supposed threats to these guys :)
####ing jerks.
What the hell is a “Basav Sen?”
