Have you spoken with automakers? Do you believe them willing to bypass the California market?

Whether the automakers are willing or not does not make the decision.

Economics and competition do, eventually, and quickly when government subsidies are removed from the equation.

GM and Chrysler signed on to kissing CA and Socialist ass to obtain Federal Taxpayer subsidy, and avoid bankruptcy caused by acceptance of Federal and State Regulations.

They WILL eventually go bankrupt, as economic and market principles and forces never stop, but the subsidies do, with President Trump.

There is no other possibility, automakers will eventually have to refuse to make special automobiles for California.

I have no disagreement there. Just a matter of being of a different era.

The 1980’s-1990’s at least had some decent options for a full-size car though. Not as much as the 1960’s, but a V8-powered RWD sedan still was a mass-market car.

In theory the market is the natural corrective to all imbalances. The President ending subsidies to automakers and EPA strangulation is going to be a heruclean task. If Team Trumps gets the government out of the role of regulator, we’ll have much to celebrate..
