Paul Ryan: Health Care Failure Could Stall Other GOP Priorities

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Friday warned GOP opponents of the party’s healthcare plan that the measure’s failure could derail progress on other key aspects of Republicans’ policy agenda.

In an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Ryan said that a defeat of House Republicans’ bill repealing and replacing ObamaCare would be “momentum killing,” essentially having a domino effect on planned tax reform efforts, among other party goals.

“Think of legislation as one train track with a bunch of trains on the track,” Ryan said. “If you don’t get these trains through the system, it slows everything else down."

“So if we didn’t get this done in time, according to our schedule — and we’re planning five weeks over this, this is a five week process of passing this bill, which is fairly lengthy. It slows absolutely everything down, pushes tax reform off past the summer.”

Breitbart has an analysis of this disaster. Rush is going over this now:

If this doesn’t include a full repeal, Trump has no business agreeing to this! He ran on “repeal and replace”, and Trump didn’t tell us anything about it being done in phases!

I know what he is doing. Pass my health care law or you don’t get your tax cuts. Blackmail.

He’s been Speaker less than 2 years.

Because NO ONE else who could get a majority would take the job. He didn’t go out and campaign for it.

Unlike Pelosi, he has understood the requirement of Reconciliation early. Pelosi’s first cut at Obamacare was a single payer program Canada style. She sent it to the Senate and only then learned the Dem total there would not get 60 votes.

That’s why Obamacare didn’t pass until into 2010. That was well into into Obama presidency. She was an idiot.

Ryan isn’t. He has a way to gut Obamacare within just a couple of months of the Trump presidency.

You’ll never get better than this. And you know it.

If a train breaks down, any reasonable railroad company moves to get it off the tracks so other trains can pass until it can be repaired.

Second that and I fought against him being approved as Speaker. We could certainly see this coming - how many years have GOPers been treated to "That is the best we can do with only ____ (fill in the blanks) part of the Government." Remember Boner bragging about how they were going to CUT $100 BILLION out of the Gov spending if we would just return the GOP to control the House???? Utter nonsense after he actually cut $30 MILLION out of spending in the 2009-2010 CR agreement.

Paul Ryan desperately needs his ass kicked! He is bitching about not having enough time, and yet bragging that the arseholes are only going to work 8 days in April! In the REAL world, these jagoffs would be summarily fired!

Ryno had an opportunity to “gut Obamacare” while Obama was in office. Instead, he fully funded it.

Ryan wanted amnesty passed, he had the Omnibus Spending deal with Obama where he gave Obama almost everything he wanted. He’s a big government Republican.

Oh and btw, the tax cuts . . . they are to be revenue neutral.

Why would you want more? Would a bigger deficit be conservative?

Cut spending? You mean Social Security? Ask your parents about that.

Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers should stall most, if not all, GOP priorities where domestic policy is concerned.

And that is the purpose of GOProgressiveCare: stall out the Trump agenda and isolate him from his Deplorables so the Globalists can regroup.
