FLASHBACK-Obama campaign gives database of millions of supporters to new advocacy group

President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has turned over its most valuable asset — a massive computer database containing personal data on millions of American voters — to a new advocacy group created to advance the White House agenda on issues ranging from gun control to immigration reform.

Organizing For Action (OFA), the advocacy group set up in recent weeks by the president’s top political aides, has already acquired access to the database under a leasing agreement with the Obama campaign, Katie Hogan, a former Obama campaign aide who is now serving as spokeswoman for the lobbying group, told NBC News. The information will be used to unleash an “army of the door knockers” to back the president’s legislative agenda as well as raise money for “issue ads” – particularly in crucial congressional districts, she said.

As an opening salvo, the group on Friday urged the president’s supporters to call members of Congress in support of Obama’s gun control proposals, even offering a sample script of what they should say.

“It’s extremely worrisome,” said Lillie Coney, associate director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, noting that Obama campaign supporters likely have no idea that personal data they voluntarily shared with the campaign has now been transferred and is being used for purposes beyond the election.

I suspect, but cannot prove, that this database is where many of the several huge data breaches have gone. I also would not be too surprised to find IRS data and other government data in the database.

There was a name for this database and associated programs- Narwhal? Citi-something? Civitas?

It's almost a metaphysical certainty that a lot of the data populating that database came from vacuuming private info from government computers.

....Obama's campaign supporters voluntarily shared personal data with the campaign ... and have no idea the data has been transferred and is being used for purposes beyond the election....for purposes some consider illegal....

What would they say (or do) if they knew OBAMA leased the info to OFA and is making money on their personal information.......

Sounds like a class action suit to me.

Gee, maybe Obama can achieve something I didn’t think was possible — Steal more money and become more corrupt than the Clintons.

Obama and his OFA operation have absolutely no use for the DNC, and even less for the little contingency of old Bill & Hill & Chelsea-the-Dumb, and surrogates, except and unless, the namesake trio serve as fetch & step mules for Obama.

The Clintons are being put to pasture but don’t want to go. Thus, the flurry of Bill & Hill appearances, while Chelsea tweets.

Rush was just saying Hillary is 20 points South of Trump in approval ratings with the public.

One more thing to thank Trump for, he Clinton’s are politically nonviable. All of them.
