great news. Buy a car o0r walk — what ever you want. Your choice.
“I fail to see why an intrastate transportation project needs to be subsidized by the federal government”
If they didn’t blow 100’s of billions of dollars on these boondoggles, we would have a much better interstate highway system with safe bridges...that’s where our gas tax dollars are supposed to go!!
> If it is so good a deal, issue bonds and do it yourselves. <
Bingo. And the same goes for the pro sports owners who want to use tax dollars to build new stadiums.
> Why not use the electricity for telecommuting? <
Not enough opportunity for kickbacks there.
Yup. Humble yourself, California.

There’s plenty of money in the Bay Area to build their toy train set with. Let them pay for it. Make it a publicly owned company instead of a government boondoggel.
Actually, we need the rail money to make infrastructure repairs to the State; as proven by the almost destruction of a huge DAM near Oroville.
And, our interstate highways are also in terrible shape.
And they were just getting their act together...
The news channel here in socal this morning said the bullet train was on track?
Who wants the “bullet train” from S.F. to L.A.? California’s top 1% in S.F., Silicon Valley and Hollyweird, and they want it subsidized, unlike the crowded airliners they have to take to and from S.F. & L.A. area airports. Who NEEDS it? Nobody but them.
California, a state famous for electricity shortagesThat must be a myth. I'm soon to be 70 yrs old and lived in California my whole life. I've lived in Southern Ca., Northern Ca, the foothills, the Sierra's, the coast and the Central Valley I've never had an "electricity shortage", brown out or black out, that wasn't weather related.
The reason California (the state that gave us Ronald Reagan and Freerepublic) is so screwed is because of all the East Coast liberals that moved here for the weather and the money.
Shove that where the sun don’t shine Moonbeam!
Intrastate projects that are part of the interstate highway system or major connections US highways should have a level of subsidy. Montana would not and could not support Interstate 90 without federal funds and a sizable portion of the traffic is Interstate in origin.
Libtards sure love their trains. Does anyone here remember WillieGreen on FR?
They already did a bunch of bonds for Browns boondoggle train. Not sure more bonds would pass. But the Feds shouldn’t pay for it either.

Most notable string of blackouts:

Here is the cost of electricity by state. The fact that power in California costs 50% more than the national average is indicative of a continuing shortage of electricity.

Willie was OK, he was just koo koo over choo choo’s.
These people elect these LIB lunatics. Enterprising but idiotic.
I was really worried about this pick and the establishment obsession with trains. I hope this continues.
