WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.
Mr. Comey made the request on Saturday after Mr. Trump leveled his allegation on Twitter. Mr. Comey has been working to get the Justice Department to knock down Mr. Trump’s claim because there is no evidence to support it and it insinuates that the F.B.I. broke the law, the officials said.
A spokesman for the F.B.I. declined to comment. Sarah Isgur Flores, the spokeswoman for the Justice Department, also declined to comment.

I'm not sure Obama or Loretta Lynch made any comments about the nature of that investigation before it even began. That seems to be Comey's point here ... again -- assuming this report is accurate (which it may not be).
Exactly. They could’ve just said “some dude we talked to” but I guess that wouldn’t go over as well. I think a lot of people I did at first would just gloss over that and assume it was “senior Administration officials” as usual.

Trump doesn’t have anywhere to go...All the spy agencies are run and controlled by Democrats and who knows how many deep they go...The one he had who could have moved forward with this (Sessions) bowed out...So now Trump doesn’t even have the Justice Dept. to back him up, but a Justice Dept. and FBI run by the enemy...Sessions should have cleaned house on his first day on the job...
Any appointments that need to be made to replace these traitors are tied up by the Republicans and Democrats in Congress...

Comey’s never been shy about coming forward and saying what’s on is mind before - why doesn’t he come to the microphone and say this for himself - if it’s true.....
I don't know all the details, but there have been articles stating that there are up to 1,000 appointees in the bureaucracies that require Senate approval. So, Schumcky and the Dims in the Senate are holding those up also and I believe those are the positions where Trump could dismiss people and replace with his own once approved by the Senate.
Republicans in the Senate really need to start hammering the Dims on those continuing delays and start some tough tactics of their own.
And Sessions #2 at the DofJ has not been approved, but might be this week some say.
This is all a phony charade by the criminals who got caught in the act by those who have access to big F, the big file cabinet.
Who in hell thought this democrat orchestrated insidious subversion of our system during the elections could possibly get worse after the election? A few did. They understood once in office Trump would have ready access to all the data, files, reports, memos, investigations you name it. Stuff that none of us will ever be privy to.
The opposition saw this coming as the election neared. It had to be like watching their execution date go to single digits. Trump was never supposed to win.
They recoiled, panicked and set into motion desperate measures to reach their Holy Grail, a magic bullet, the grand gotcha, to bury Trump. They failed.

Yes it is tortured use of the English language! President Trump didn’t use the word ‘ordered’ in his Tweets. It was the response by Obama’s spokesman that used that word:
“A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice,” said Kevin Lewis in a statement released hours after President Trump tweeted allegations claiming Obama **ordered** a “Nixon/Watergate” plot to tap phones in Trump Tower prior to the 2016 presidential election.
“As part of that practice,” continued Lewis, “neither President Obama nor any White House official ever **ordered** surveillance on any U.S. citizen.”

Mostly its all speculation because FISA Warrants are highly classified. What we do know is that a wiretap was granted in October 2016. In the course of implementing this warrant two Russian bank information was found on a server in Trump Tower.
So if there was no surveillance on Trump Tower then how did it come to be discovered the two Russian banks’ information on the server? If no warrant warrant, this discovery is a criminal matter as it was done legally. No matter what direction you go in this case serious crime(s) have beencommitted rising to the level of Watergate. Many people went to jail for that. It is also established that 0bummer can lose all benefits afforded him for being POTUS if convicted of a crime against the USA.
