If a person is a plumber his peers would be plumbers. If a person is a baker his peers would be bakers. Peers for a warehouse worker would be other warehouse workers. It seems racist to assume that all peers are to be based on skin color.

The best solution would be for San Francisco black criminals to go outside the city into the suburbs to commit crimes.

In my rural California county there may not be enough
African Americans to fill any jury. If peers are so

in SF be whether or not the potential juror is a liberal
as is the defendant? I mean would an average black man
accused of murder prefer to have Larry Elder or,rather,
Jerry Brown on his jury given a choice between the two?
As a non-criminal, but a sometimes crime victim, I would far rather that the jury have more in common with the victim than the criminal.
When I am robbed, burgled, or mugged, I want the perp to be judged by upright, solid citizens. I don’t want people who are out to avenge “repression” or those who ask “How else is he going to get money for school?”

In NY, you can only be called every four years. You just have to show your proof of service if they call you sooner.
But, understandably, the prosecutors don’t want to have a jury of professional criminals.

The Supreme Court already examined this. While jurors can’t be excluded because of their race, it’s also not necessary to include people solely based on race.
Its racist to assume I can’t be a peer to a person of a different skin color.

If the defendants have red blood and the jury has red blood the they are peers.
