CHICAGO -- Three men were killed and at least nine other people have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday afternoon, according to Chicago police. (snip)
Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, two people in hooded sweatshirts opened fire into a crowd at a party in the 6500-block of South Drexel in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side. A 20-year-old man was shot in the face and torso, and a 37-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, police and the medical examiner's office said. They both died at the scene, making them Chicago's 100th and 101st homicide victims in 2017. Their identities have not been released.
Additionally, a 29-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to the thigh(snip)
The most recent nonfatal shooting happened Saturday night on the Near West Side. A 25 year-old man walked into Stroger Hospital shortly before midnight with a gunshot wound to the right knee, (snip)
Three people, including a 15-year-old girl, were shot shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday in the South Shore neighborhood. The group was in a black Toyota van in the 7400-block of South Baldwin when they exchanged gunfire with people inside a black Chevrolet Tahoe, police said. The 15-year-old girl was shot in her left buttock and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where her condition was stabilized. A 20-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the cheek and was taken to a nearby hospital in good condition. A 39-year-old man shot in the right arm was also taken to Northwestern, where he was listed in good condition.
At least four other people were wounded in shootings across Chicago between Friday evening and Sunday morning.
