Actress Meryl Streep isn't just denouncing the dire state of America at Hollywood awards shows. She's now taking her speech to far-left events, recently accepting the Ally Award from the LGBTQ political-correctness police at the Human Rights Campaign. Since so many Americans will never get to stand on an awards show stage and speak their mind about what's wrong with the world, we thought we'd present a speech responding to Streep and what she represents.
"It is such an opportunity to present our thoughts on behalf of the broad swath of America that didn't earn the right to offer grand orations about politics and world history on national television because we took acting classes at Vassar and Yale. It is refreshing to speak up for people who don't complain about growing up inside what Meryl Streep calls 'the straitjacket of conformist suburban life.'
"Many Americans who chose not to vote for Hillary Clinton are now accused of being nostalgic for an America that never existed, or for an America that was a living hell of discrimination. But these accused Americans aren't exactly thinking of Civil War days. They are recalling heir own childhoods, during which the 'straitjacket' was the nuclear family, a civil society, a respect for God, uncontroversial bathrooms and televised awards shows without the blather of coddled megalomaniacs.
"Professional entertainers like Meryl Streep lament the existence of fundamentalists among us who oppose everything the forces of tolerance are constantly pressuring us to accept, lest we risk the wrath of the tolerance community. For the Coexist crowd, there is somehow nothing fundamentalist in saying there is no room for prayer in public life, no room for dissent on LGBTQ rights, no science in declaring that an unborn child is a human and no science in identifying gender by genitals. The Hollywood left that never let anyone forget a blacklist of communists is today identifying dissent from the leftist agenda as a firing (or never-hiring) offense. These alleged nonfundamentalists even denounce people who try to stay apolitical as ignorant or cowardly.
"Fundamentalists like Streep are celebrated by their peers as the nuanced voices, but they can only describe the agenda of their opponents in the starkest terms of an evil and emotional backlash -- forces of fear and ignorance, harassment and oppression. As artists, they claim to have the wildest and broadest imaginations, but somehow, they can't imagine that someone could arrive at an opposing viewpoint through study and reason and, dare we say, prayer from time to time.
"Worst of all, leftists like Meryl Streep think they are the ones who can quote Thomas Jefferson at us about the price of liberty being eternal vigilance. Since when has the left ever represented liberty? When has it promoted limited government under the Constitution? It thinks the Constitution is only there for its mysterious penumbras that somehow empower abortion clinics, enforce censorship that's called 'inclusion' and fight 'slut shaming' and 'rape culture.'
"Finally, the silliest thing Streep decried was that 'Disrespect invites disrespect, and violence invites violence.' Before she uncorks that lecture, she should reread every disrespectful thing she has launched at conservatives. As for violence, it's hard to proclaim that you oppose bullying while accepting an unborn child getting her brains removed. God bless you all. And at the risk of being really, really offensive, God bless Meryl Streep!"
When you understand they are not ‘for’ America, then you can understand ‘what and who’ they really are...
Meryl Streep bravely defends Hollywood billionaires and the legions of illegals who clean their toilets and kiss their royal butts.
She must be very proud.
I don’t pay attention to the bubble people. They don’t live in the same world we do. Their “concern” for others is almost always about reciprocal admiration, self-promotion or to garner favor for themselves or some faux cause which is once again self-promotion. There’s not a genuine bone in most of their bodies. And they are too stupid to realize this is how they are viewed.
I’m sorry, but however young or old, that face and that nose just shriek bitch to me. I never ever saw anything sexy about her, nor have I ever thought the acting was good enough to overcome that vision.
I take no advice from rich b1tches who made their money by playing a role in a film without having done anything useful in their lives and who scorn normal people.

Always projection. The Left seems to be asking us all to conform to the ‘straitjacket’ of their beliefs. A viewpoint counter is regarded as racist, dangerous, foolish, or subversive.
I remember the time that Meryl Streep bravely stood at the podium and denounced the Oscars for awarding a child rapist (Roman Polanski) their highest award. That was very brave. Oh, wait, that didn’t happen. He got the award and everyone cheered him.
I remember the time when she denounced the Oscars for paying tribute upon her death to Nazi propagandist Leni Riefenstahl. Oh wait....
Someone wrote that Streep `has a sword for a nose’, which alone explains her success in Hollywood.
IIRC, Streep once tried to claim that she was Jewish, but she in fact is of pure SS-Lebensborn Aryan blood on both sides.
Streep did play the non-Jewish wife of the Jewish Dr. Weiss in “Holocaust” (1978), FWIW.
Liberals are derisive of the people who believe in Jesus Christ, or ore Orthodox Jews - because belief in a higher power and traditional morality is a ‘straight-jacket’ to them.
When they bash the so-called deplorables [who they have no understanding about], they are bashing the people who work the soup kitchens, the food shelves, the Salvation Army Kettle ringers, etc. Instead they call us all sorts of names.
The oddest thing about these lectures from thes Leftist activist elitists, is that they provide NO reason, they never persuade, so all they are left with is no more than talking to themselves and that accomplishes nothing - except it provides them applause, and perhaps in the end that’s all they need as they are essentially low esteemers.
I don’t think I ever thought of her nose as some ethnic type. I see her nose as having an invisible clothes pin clamped down on her nostrils, actually....I actually mentally cringe when I see her.
She is arrogant and belittling and bigoted. And she thinks she is the opposite.

i just read that Streep basically pimped herself out to whatever designer would PAY her to wear their dress at the Academy Awrds.
Bet she won’t donate that $$ to any charity. It will go to the Bank of Streep. Phony.

Because those real Americans are busy working, raising their families, and in particular, fighting to keep our country safe so self important ass hats like Streep and others like her can complain about how bad they have it here. Honestly I could care less what those self important bastards have to say.
This is typical of American celebrity in general. Most people that get the lion's share of coverage are pretenders. Bill nye and algore have absolutely no training in climate science for example but they are the darlings of the media in that area.
Several hollyweird personalities have testified before congress because of role that they have played and despite the fact they are uneducated in the areas they are discussing.
Amazingly as a matter of fact, if you follow the educational levels of these "expert witnesses" you will find some of them barely even finished high school.
