Cruz has no patience for GOP's Obamacare-lite. Calls 'em out at CPAC

Mincing no words when it comes to lukewarm replacement plans that would keep most of the disastrous 2009 law in place, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas (A, 97%) called out Obamacare-lite replacement plans at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday.

“There are some Senate Republicans who would like to keep the Obamacare taxes because they want to spend money,” the senator said in a closed-door meeting with reporters at CPAC. “That would be exceptionally foolish.”

“I don’t think we should replace one 2,000-page monstrosity with another 2,000-page monstrosity,” Cruz said, in discussion of the current struggle to repeal the Affordable Care Act. “’Replace’ should not entail ‘give me an equally unsustainable government leviathan to replace the one we’ve got right now.’”

Then he is a lone voice. ACA isn’t being ended, it’s being expanded.

At the very minimum, the Texas senator said, two of the biggest requirements for an eventual plan are opening up the insurance market across state lines and expanding health savings accounts.

I would say that those two steps are the very maximum that should be done. And since neither one would make any difference anyway then why even bother with them? Repeal, don't replace.

KILL IT. DEAD...and stay out of the replacement business. Get the gub’mint out of making decisions about medical treatment. Let market forces work it out.

In 2018, any RINOcrats must be soundly defeated in primaries.

If you are a Conservative, and I suspect you are one because you are here, you know the importance of the November 2016 election. Ted didn’t.

He was still attached at the hip with the NeverTrump movement.

Here’s a man on November 5th, 2016, three days before the election, who refused to say Trump’s name at the first event he attended, supposedly to support Trump.

Up until November 5th, he was still tossing out bones to NeverTrumpers.

I don’t know how any Conservative can read what I wrote here and elsewhere and ever support Tead Curz for anything.

He was willing to let the nation go, so he could have a chance in 2020.

He was mindbogglingly absent without leave.

0bamacare was designed to eliminate the middle class, cripple the economy, and end what’s left of personal sovereignty and privacy.

Nothing short of total elimination is acceptable.

Senator Cruz is fighting the good fight. Where are the rest of the Republican pantywaists in Congress?

Give ‘em hell, Ted. As Steve Bannon said today at CPAC in explaining how to help the Trump administration, “watch our backs for us but also HOLD US ACCOUNTABLE”. That is ESSENTIALwhen dealing with snakes such as Paul Ryan.

On September 23, 2016 Ted Cruz endorsed Donald Trump and said he would be voting for him. At the same time he said he was “neverHillary”.

That’s a tad before the November election...

Who was listening?

Who was visiting his web page?

N O B O D Y !

What did Ted do after September 23rd? Except for November 5th when he refused to say the name Trump at his first of three events, Ted did nothing.

That was a six week period.

Take a good look at how big his mouth is now, and how zipped shut it was during the run up to the 2016 election.

Ted is in this predicament because of his own actions.

Jeez, I guess you have some secret strategy for aiming your fire at folks actually fighting for Trump’s ideas (such as TedCruz) in Congress and cutting duplicitous, lying snakes such as Paul Ryan considerable slack.

I hope that brilliant strategy helps lead to successes for Trump and not to the watering down and/or “death by delay” of Trump’s legislative proposals.

Are you folks Conservatives or not?

I’m dumbfounded to watch you guys support a guy who couldn’t have cared less if Trump beat Hillary.

What the hell folks?

Well, keep doing Paul Ryan’s & Mitch McConnell’s work for them. I’m sure that hidden from the view of simpletons such as myself there is an underlying absolutely brilliant strategy to that approach. I guess we’ll see when the fruits of that strategy mature for us.

One again, avoidance rather than admit I’m right.

Was it important to you that Hillary Clinton wasn’t elected president?

Could you have kept silent for months at a time with a very close election of that importance on the line?

Ted is seen as smarter than all of us, but dagnabit, with the nation on the line he couldn’t see what all of us did.

He’s a dolt.

You were betrayed by Ted Cruz last year. You can admit it or continue to try to avoid admitting it.

Now you call it a brilliant strategy (my extrapolation), to back a guy who betrayed us.

Why?

He has shown you what his real true colors are.

Why are you in denial over this. It’s crystal clear.

Actually Trump and the media threw Trump under the bus...Subsequent to this Cruz reaffirmed his support of Trump when others were abandoning the ship.

Move on...

Cruz had good reason to hate Trump personally IMO. But right, wrong or whatever, we all need to move on.
