Cruz: Congress should use 'all authority' to rein in activist judges
Conservative Review ^ | 02/23/2017 | Nate Madden

Congress should use every tool at its disposal to rein in activist federal courts, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas (A, 97%) said in a closed-door meeting with reporters at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference Thursday. And this includes limiting their jurisdiction with federal legislation, Cruz stated.

Don't Miss A Tweet Profile Picture Conservative Review @CR Follow In the last congressional session, Sen. Cruz introduced a bill that would have limited the jurisdiction of federal court on marriage. When asked about similar legislation, the senator reiterated his unapologetically bold thoughts on the subject of judicial overreach.

“We should be using all legislative and constitutional authority to rein in the abuses [of activist courts],” Sen. Cruz said.

I suspect that for Cruz, a discussion of removing judges would be a delicate issue.

He has solid relationships with hundreds of judges, of greatly varying ideologies.

We already know about Ted’s solid relationship with Justice Roberts, a great call there.

They should start using their authority to start walling-off large segments of existing law from the jurisdiction of the inferior courts.

Stop “feigned ignorance” trolling this issue.

Cruz had solid justification for keeping his distance at the convention.

He had been attacked in a shameful tirade of lies, false accusations, and fantasy stories by our now President.

No apology was ever tendered in a public venue.

I think you or I would have had similar reservations.

Now, let’s move on so that we can bring America back into existence.

Nope.

One man, I don’t care how self-important he sees himself to be, should ever sell out the nation over self-interest.

If you can’t grasp that, don’t bother me.

True Conservatives pulled for Trump and they’re getting just what they bargained for.

Ted couldn’t see it. Hillary was okay as long as Trump didn’t get in.

Screw Tead and the clown-car he road in on.

I doubt that you understand at all.

Stepping on the toes of men in power whose ‘yea’ votes we may need down the road can be a foolish venture.

There is zero doubt in my mind that we will need every shred of Senator Cruz’ influence to get through this mess.

If you have a liberal, often-overturned circuit court, their jurisdiction should be restricted to smaller and smaller regions as the judges die off. Don’t replace them, just let them age out of the system if they can’t be impeached. Let a court that believes in the Constitution take over their territory until they can be eliminated administratively.

More of the same lying trolling!

Ted Cruz has never sold out this nation in any way, no matter what blows in or out of the holes in your head.

Ted Cruz is doing what Steve Bannon asked us ALL to do -— specifically, hold the Administration, the House Republicans & the Senate Republicans ACCONTABLE to make sure all are advancing what the electorate was promised.

I guess you have a problem with him doing that?

Ted Cruz was willing to allow Hillary Clinton be elected last year rather than fall in behind Trump or at least be very vocal against Hillary. He was neither.

Now you accuse me of trolling because I am pointing you at the truth.

You are capable of grasping this. You simply refuse to.

What blows out of my head, is exactly what took place last year, and what was on the line if Hillary had been elected.

And yet, here you are backing the guy who was absent without leave in the biggest political battle of our lifetimes.

Buck up!

Are you really that much of a moron?

Ted is the only one that did what it took to prevent Hillary from getting elected.

It was the work of Ted Cruz and his staff at his expense that won the rust belt states in the general election.

I am not going to stand by and watch a guy that refused to be a part of the effort to defeat Hillary Clinton, who is now trying to rehab his image for his primary next year.

He IS NOT on our team.

True Conservatives don’t take a pass with a Hillary Clinton presidency on the line.

What is so hard for you to grasp about that?

Do you have any idea the implications for the SCOTUS, our Military, our social justice problems, and on and on it goes? I know you do.

Cruz was ready to chuck all that over because he had his poor little feelings hurt.

That’s your golden guy? LOL

Total unmitigated Bull-Stuff.

Ted didn’t win more than one or two elections on his own, and yet you credit him with moving votes. That’s just a smoldering pile of horse stuff.

Ted won Caucuses, strongly controlled by the GOPe. Period.

Seems you forgot about TPA and the corker bill. Not to mention how easily teddy joined-up with blm to accuse Trump of violence. cruz has a history of saying one thing and doing another. I think his only allegiance is to himself, I will never vote for him period!
