A western Pennsylvania high school has experienced an incredible turnaround in its lunch program since abandoning Michelle Obama's National School Lunch Program.
The former first lady's lunch program was widely criticized for being unappealing to students, according to TheBlaze.
@MichelleObama so this is the "healthy school lunch" pic.twitter.com/qgxL5ez9zh

Parents were unimpressed with the product of the National School Lunch Program as well.

Since opting out of the federal program, Penn-Trafford High School in Harrison City has increased lunch options for students and more than made up for lost federal funding, according to TribLive.
Students at the school waited longer in line for fewer meal choices with Obama's lunch initiative. Program rules required schools to offer healthier food options with less calories and more fruits and vegetables, but students would often throw fruits and vegetables in the garbage.

Jamaican Curried Shrimp & Mango Soup
Jerk Potato Salad
Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings
Sweet Potato BBQ Bake
Sweet Corn & Piquillo Peppers
Roasted Plantains
Sautéed Habanero Kale
Pineapple
A heaping scoop of Wookie Chow (I should trademark that) doesn’t sound appetizing.
Go figure! Not hers, though...
We should be thankful for her. She turned a whole cohort of school children conservative.
Freedom at last.
My grandparents raised pigs when I was very young. I seem to recall the stuff fed to those pigs looked better than that pile of $#@&¥ does. Bleech!
Threat of removal of Federal funding.
That looks like what most of us would call “Mystery Meat”.
I have 3 younger brothers.
we are 2 yrs-3 yrs-7 2 yrs apart.
We got peanut butter & strawberry jam sandwiches every single school day all the way thru high school. There was no middle school—1 thru 8, then 9 thru 12.
It took a full package of Wonder bread every school day to make those sandwiches, as the boys usually ate 2 apiece. We didn’t have any kind of cafeteria & we could buy a carton of milk for 5 cents from a dispensing machine like an old Coke machine.
None of us suffered. We were healthy & in good shape. My brothers played sports—we got good grades & I was on the Honor Roll & in the bands.
The big thing when I was a junior in high school was the opening of the A & W drive in. IF we got to go there once a month, it was a big deal.
Jamaican cultural appropriation!
The kid who took that picture dubbed it “Mystery Mush”.
Above all else, they're "good democrats"....
One of my strictest rules is that I never eat anything that looks like someone else already ate it.
The irony of a fat, elitist busy-body who wouldn’t eat cheap food forcing this on students is mind boggling.
