The other Murray, Seattle’s Ed Murray, is proposing increased property taxes to deal with increased homeless spending. He is also standing firm on his efforts to keep Seattle a Sanctuary city. He demand answers on the creation and intention of President Donald Trump’s executive orders, as well as his plans for DACA and sanctuary cities.
If the administration doesn’t respond within the allotted 20 business days, Murray says, he’ll sue. He is enlisting Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson to help him with his legal challenge. It was Ferguson that started the court case that overturned Trump’s immigration temporary ban.
Then we have former Washington State GOP chairman, Chris Vance, who is opposed to Trump’s immigration policies.
This tells me, the Democrats in Washington State want an increased welfare state on the backs of the productive parents who support their children though work. If Washington State becomes a welfare haven for illegal border crossers, this will drive up state spending and give more pressure for a state income tax. I talked to you new Republican State Treasurer, Duane Davidson, and he agrees that the strategy of driving up costs is a effort to reach a state income tax.
