I heard Rush Limbaugh say this before he went off the air. He said “Bolton didn’t get it but he will be involved somehow...”

I was hoping for this. Gen. McMaster was a Colonel when he lead his tanks during the famous Battle of 73 Easting during the first Iraq war. I’ve seen him interviewed and he seems extremely capable and he IS NOT a perfumed Pentagon Prince. OO-RAH!

I think this is the best book ever written on Vietnam. I have read many of them.

Man, is there *anything* that Amazon could do that would be discreditable enough to stop conservatives from using it?

“Bolton didn’t get it but he will be involved somehow...”

Excellent. I never thought national security director was a good fit for Bolton, but I’d like to see him involved somehow in foreign relations in some way. I don’t always agree with him (especially his staunch opposition to partnering with Russia in the war against terror), but his perspective on other matters would be valuable.

An absolutely fantastic book. McMaster will tell it like it is.

Read that book. It’s a great read. He posits in there how McNamara and Johnson, along with Gen Max Taylor and McGeorge Bundy played the JCS against one another to get what they wanted in Vietnam. The book showed me someone who is not afraid to criticize what he sees as wrong and improper. He wrote that in the 1990s at a time when I’m sure Taylor still had lots of friends in the defense industry along with McNamara who was still alive at the time.

"I wonder what he got his silver star for."

Well, you can bet it was for something more than what John Kerry was claimed to have done.
