The MSM is falsely portraying President Trump as having alleged on Saturday that a “terror” attack had occurred the night before in Sweden. Take, for example, this NBC story headlined “Donald Trump Explains Sweden Terror Comment That Baffled a Nation.” In addition to the misleading headline, the story includes a video clip of President Trump making his remarks. The chyron at the bottom of the screen reads “President Trump appears to refer to a non-existent terror incident in Sweden.”
But if you listen to the president’s remarks, you’ll see that he never mentioned terror. He said: “The bottom line: we’ve got to keep our country safe. You look at what’s happening in Germany. You look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden! Who would believe this? Sweden! They took in large numbers, they’re having problems like they never thought possible.”

I pointed this out to a family member who claimed Trump lied. I reminded him of President Trump’s EXACT words, and said he NEVER said anything about a terror attack, simply an attack by someone who had been allowed in to Sweden. It was part of his comments on why he was keeping some people out of the country to protect the American people. Of course then folks on his FB page were commenting about the President getting his information from Fox News, so I challenged them to GOOGLE attacks in Sweden, as well as France, Germany and England, and wondered by the USA Today reporter couldn’t have just accessed the paper’s Lexis-Nexis account to see what attacks have occurred. Of course they’re saying he lied because he said “Last Night”, but I can guaran-damn-tee you that in some European country, there was an attack that previous night, even if it wasn’t in Sweden.
Wow! Thanks for that link to the 60 minutes report! I posted that on my nephew’s FB page, and mentioned that they could fixate on President Trump’s ‘last night’ remark, or they could actually take a look at the problem, it was THEIR choice.
It appears that the “average”, Swede is AOK on the migration situation in Sweden. Seems like a national virtue signaling regardless of the consequences. INSANE!!!

I’m going to get blasted for this but I challenge anyone here who saw that speech and heard those words, didn’t say to him/herself - “”Sweden? What happened in Sweden last night?””
It’s absolute foolishness to try to pin the “lying” label on the press for this and complain about their reporting. He said what he said and as someone else posted - “he got his syntax mixed up as he usually does”.
Everyone here looks foolish trying to defend it and explain it just as it looked foolish for the WH to claim that’s not what he said! Didn’t we get tired of the progressives covering up for obozo all the time? Why are FReepers doing it?
What's funny is that in their rush to paint him a liar, the lapdog media has probably gotten more people to check out 'violence in Sweden' than even would have given it a thought, and if they still want to bitch about his 'last night' comment, they certainly can no longer say he's lying about the violence in Sweden (and NO, he didn't say 'a terror attack', as many news outlets have reported in their attempt to make him out a liar.

Just go to youtube and watch the videos that our retched propaganda ministry won’t show.
Several times the streets of Stockholm have looked like tunnels of fire from the muzzie terrorists burning cars and buses.

You’re sure???? I don’t have the slightest idea what you meant by your original statement and your comment is uncalled for - what twist of logic are you using that he could have been referring on Saturday to an attack that happened on Sunday?
He was referring to the attacks that have occurred ever since the refugees were allowed into Sweden, not any specific ONE attack. There is a rape crisis in Sweden that has been going on for quite a while, and the President is aware of it. He didn't need prescience to be able to discuss an attack that occurred the day after he spoke about the acts of violence, because he'd already heard of many more from before.
