Republican Sen. John McCain took a veiled swipe at President Donald Trump's attacks on the media, cautioning that suppressing the press "is how dictators get started."
McCain, who has broken with Trump on several issues, made the comments in an exclusive interview with NBC's "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd, after being asked about the president's condemnation of several media outlets as "fake news" and "an enemy of the American people."
"I hate the press. I hate you especially," McCain joked. "But the fact is we need you. We need a free press. We must have it. It's vital."

Dictators use the press, they don’t do battle with it.
Trump need to take him to the woodshed. I am sure he has baggage that has been hidden from the public.

Perhaps some patriot in the “intelligence community” will leak his confidential “CIA Dossier”. It might take that to turn the stomachs of Arizona voters.

And don't even get me started on McCain. He long ago used up all of his juju for his heroics in Viet Nam. Just because he did something heroic doesn't give him a lifetime pass. If that were the case, Benedict Arnold would be a national hero.

Agreed. Part of the reason McCain is allowed to get away with this and other things is extremely weak leadership from Mitch McConnell. McCain is clearly violating the Logan Act and should be investigated for it.
A sitting senator is not allowed to meet with representatives of foreign governments and undermine our foreign policy or President. Clear violation of the Logan Act. I’m surprised Trump has not called McConnell to demand he reign McCain in!
McConnell can by himself as Majority Leader do lots of things to McCain if he chooses including:
Strip McCain of his Armed Forces Committee Chairmanship and any other committee or subcommittee chairs he has;
Remove McCain from any Senate Leadership role and also strip him of his seniority!
Can also remove McCain from all committees and he only be allowed to vote on bills that made it to the full Senate.
Hold your nose and look at the public statements that Juan McLame and Linda Graham have said since the election. My guess is that they have been cut off from the inner GOP and Trump circles of access, and in efforts to continue to portray themselves as important operatives in Washington, they grasp for any "talking points", and since the dems are the only ones willing to talk to that scum, it's the dem points they spew forth.
How is calling for the media to be honest and calling them out for their bias suppressing the news?

Some democrat has something on him and Linda Graham. It would be best if we found out what it is and made it public so the democrats can't use it anymore.
