Rubio’s pal Liz Mair ? ran pacs to run down DJT. I suspect Rubio is on retainer against his will, he sure ain’t one of the boys. When DJT gushes over someone publicly, you should read it as him placing a red carnation in someone’s buttonhole on their jacket pocket.

Sessions has been pretty quiet of late so my sense is this is outside his knowledge.

Completely disagree. Sessions is "the dog that didn't bark." His silence speaks volumes; I would venture that the public silence is due to beneath-the-radar legal activity that is beyond intense right now. My guess is he's convening grand juries, indictments are coming down, and people are going to prison.
