My experience also. Most of the “Tea Party Groups” have evolved into fund raising scams. Jennie Beth's Tea Party Patriots pushed Cruz during the Presidential Primary; then became never Trumpers almost until he was elected and THEN became lukewarm Trump supporters.

Unfortunately the two biggist industries in the USA are political fund raising and producing pornography!

Tea Party was not one thing or one organization. It was a general grass roots feeling that the establishment and entrenched interests in D.C. was not working on our best interest but in theirs. This feeling is what led, eventually, to a more populist movement for President, although who is president is less important than who is in Congress and what they are up to, and who is in charge of all the other establishment entities.

No. Ramp up to hold his feet to the fire and fulfill his promises.

The TP started off great guns, but as soon as Obama said, “Boo!”, it fell apart.

Correct. I hope the Trump IRS does the same to the left. I was involved until I figured out Republican candidates were using us to win elections and then voted with the establishment.

I’ve dropped them since they backed a couple of MI Senators who wound up doing the deed. Both were married and one even tried to sue for his “job” back!
Also, I seem to remember them backing Ryan.
I figure they didn’t vet their guys too carefully.

TP died about 6 years ago

Yep. Courtesy of the Republican Party and the IRS.

My belief is the TP is as strong as ever, though it has gone through its growing pains over the last decade.

It is an organization, if you can call it that, of people who are silently united. It does not hold rallies nor does it send out brochures in a conventional way. Only some variants collect donations, I know nothing about and make no statement about them. There is no leader per se. It exists as a subtle force in peoples’ minds, but is composed of people who generally have lives and are not available at the drop of a hat like BLM protestors to bus themselves cross country and block freeways, of all the damnable acts. Because part of the TP movement is the idea that government should not matter that much in the sense that government should be so limited in its impact that it should not require the 24/7 obsession with it. It should be OUT of our lives, not a giant existential tit we are constantly looking to suckle on for our every need.

Part of the emergence of the TP, IMO, is/was the silent yet simultaneous and widespread realization that while Communist and anti-US saboteurs have been active and plentiful within the US government since the 30’s and were pervasive in the late 40’s; never has the condition existed where great segments of the electorate were sufficiently bamboozled by the career criminality of folks like the Clintons and their compatriots. As well, never has there been such a pervasive oligarchy of elites and uber-wealthy now determined to generate the massive outflow of American wealth and to stand astride of and dip into those outflows. Never before have the initiatives of spiritual, economic, moral and military destruction of the US been so congealed all at once.

The TP saw all this, and now knows about it, and is committed to being vigilant about these various aspects. It just doesn’t make itself known with big noisy rallies.
