A Maryland auction house is selling Adolf Hitlers personal traveling telephone.
Bill Panagopulos of Alexander Historical Auctions in Chesapeake City says occupying Russian officers gave the phone to Brig. Sir Ralph Rayner....
.....bidding will start at $100,000 this weekend.
CNN is reporting that the last number dialed was to Donald Trump’s private line!
Not very high tech for the 1940s...
Red?
Finally...thank goodness. I’ve been waiting so long for the opportunity to bid on Hilter’s telephone.
I hear it’s so antiquated that the only app it plays is Snake.
I predict Bernstein will Breathlessly break news:
“Sources, who cannot name, to protect them have raised concerns Trump could be the buyer.
We can’t tell you how the transaction took place or where the phone is....at this moment.
We also cannot reveal if he paid using bit coin or maybe a secret stash of green stamps but, it’s possible he used one method or the other and maybe other means we don’t know about.
Now, obviously the President cannot pick this up in person as the security the pres8denr travels with is extraordinary and could complicate businesses in the area.
We believe he will have to use an intermediary and that person, as we understand it, is very, that’s very close to the president.
Again, our sources indicated the President has purchased the phone used by the leader of the Nazi party, Adolf Hitler.
We cannot tell you who gave us this information, as this is a very sensitive subject and could place them in deep jeopardy. Obviously we also cannot reveal when the transaction took place, who the intermediary was or one of the many was it could have been paid for.
We also cannot tell you where Adolphus Hitler phone phone is at this exact moment “
He says the seller and auction house hope it ends up in a museum, where people who see it really understand what extreme fascist thinking can bring about.
...
I hope people one day find out that Communists killed many times more.
The buyer will of course be required to clear-up seventy years of back roaming charges...
Looks sorta like the Stromberg Carlson phones of that era.
Ping!
“Booty Call von Eva Braun auf das rote Telefon, Mein Fuhrer!”
Jim gave me a CD of his music once, he was working as a mobile home salesman by then. I saw him perform live at a local club back in the seventies. He watched from the stage as my wife and I and another couple took our seats at a table and ordered drinks and then he pointed us out and asked why we came to such a dive because he said he wasn’t used to seeing such nice looking, well dressed people at the “El Dorado”. My wife didn’t miss a beat, she quickly replied, “We didn’t know you were here.” Jim loved it, he liked to poke fun at people and he liked it when they poked back.
Is this the phone that should have rung on June 6th, 1944 telling Herr Hitler about the invasion? The high command was afraid to wake Der Fuhrer. Supposedly he could have released the panzers held in reserve, as only he could to that.
Speed dial set to Trump?
1st generation bat phone.
Does that mean we are going to have some "strange" visitors this weekend?
