EPIC! Trump Brings Coal Miners to Executive Order Rescuing Coal Industry from Liberal Politicians
GP ^ | 02/16/17 | Jim Hoft

President Trump signed legislation today rescuing coal miners and the coal industry from hateful liberal politicians.

Several coal miners were in the room today for the special event.

Trump promised to rescue coal miners during the campaign.
Hillary promised to kill all coal mining jobs and put thousands of families out of work.
Today President Trump made good on that promise.

The legislation could help protect coal miners from legislation that blocks American companies from mining new reserves.

During the event President Trump asked a coal miner to say a few words.
The miner from West Virginia was very happy.

This was epic!

There used to be long trains from the west coming through central Minnesota loaded with coal for our power plant in Becker, MN. Don’t see them anymore.

Not to brag...

But I bought lots of coal stocks and ETFs during the darkest days of obama.

They are doing quite well now...

Smart move. I wonder if $oros had the same idea...

Evening news last night characterized the repeal as a return to polluting streams and rivers. I believe the Clean Water Act protected the waterways, not this EO. Just what did the EO regulations removed say??

Bs. 150 coal plants were shuttered during the stupid little Muslim kid reign of terror and many more plants were cut back by the EPA ecoterrorists.

As long as natural gas is so cheap, coal mining will not make a comeback.

"...it is better to compare nuclear production costs to coal production costs, which averaged 3.23 cents per kilowatt hour in 2011 and to natural gas production costs which averaged 4.51 cents per kilowatt hour."

Electric Generating Costs: A Primer

Table 8.2. Average Tested Heat Rates by Prime Mover and Energy Source, 2007 - 2015
(Btu per Kilowatthour)

Prime Mover Coal Petroluem Natural Gas Nuclear
2007
Steam Generator 10,158 10,398 10,440 10,489
Gas Turbine -- 13,217 11,632 --
Internal Combustion -- 10,447 10,175 --

Many Power Plants were converted to gas. They’re not going to convert back.

As long as natural gas is so cheap, coal mining will not make a comeback.”””

The majority of power producing plants east of the Mississippi are powered by coal. You cannot just ‘switch’ things over to gas.

Millions of homes are still heated by coal & radiators.

Steel mills use coal to produce steel, and the old U S Steel mills ae being re-opened.

I personally will NOT own a house that has only one source of utility. I want to have propane or gas plus electricity. All electric homes are NOT on my list of properties I will buy. I had a log house for 16 years, and the ONLY heat source was a Lopi wood burning stove. It heated 2553 sq ft & it was very efficient. I am looking to relocate, and a wood burning stove is high on the ‘preferred’ items list. Mu use of that wood burning stove was a source of great jokes for my younger brother. He thought I was a ‘little old’ to be splitting wood my hand & building up the wood pile in August. I told him I could be old or I could be cold-—BUT I could NOT be both old & cold.

I moved to a property in N Nevada. I wish it had a wood stove, but wood here is very expensive. (It was NOT expensive in the log house). Same brother sent me $200 for a Christmas gift, then he called a couple of months later & asked what I bought for myself.

I told him ‘an air compressor’—8 gallon—125 psi—portable—50’ hose. He was silent for about a minute. Then, all he could keep saying was: “An Air Compressor”. Over & over again. Then he said he could have thought for 5 years & never would have come up with an air compressor. Then I told him I had 28 inflatable tires on the property—I needed an air compressor.

When I detailed all the vehicles with tires, the hay bale cart & the wheelbarrow, he decided that I needed an air compressor. Car=5 Dually truck=7 2 horse trailer=5 4 horse trailer=5 utility trailer=3 hay bale cart-2 wheelbarrow=1. I ue the air compressor more often than anyone thinks.

The article below highlights some of the issues coal plants still face

Damn China gets away with unbridled pollution...and we have to balance their deficiency?

Exactly! Stupid greens are essentially exporting pollution to a country that is magnitudes less responsible for their land and the health of their people.

Of course WE understand that the real reason is to cripple American industry in favor of communists abroad.

Liberals think it’s okay for China, the Middle East and 3rd world countries to pollute where *they* live.

Liberals don’t want pollution here - but it’s okay there.
