Conservative talk radio hosts warned us all about it in the 1990’s and the conservative religious broadcasters felt its teeth in the 1970’s along with the liberal media.
Giving government that power to use against the group we don’t like will set the precedent for government to use it against us.
I completely agree. I grew up saying “I could care less” (in a sarcastic/sneering tone). I never heard of “I couldn’t care less” until I was an adult and moved back east. To this day, “I couldn’t care less” sounds stilted.

Trump doesn’t need the media , he can walk right past them using social media . Cut out their advertising revenue by refusing them .

And Bannon is right. The media will NEVER approve of Trump. Unless he embraces every liberal, America destroying policy the left has by becoming a flaming liberal.
I learned back in my teen years that trying to make people like me would never work because if they didn’t like me already, they never would no matter what I did to try to make them. And also that they wouldn’t respect me for being so weak as changing to try to appease them.
And besides, why should I waste time and energy over people who were never going to like me anyways? I wasn’t going waste my time trying to make people like me who never would anyway.
I wasn’t going to let them have or give them that kind of control over my life.
FWIW, I wrote Trump a couple letters last week and mailed them out telling him I appreciated hismwork and giving himmy supoort and opinion on healthcare and immigration.
I’ve tried reading it both ways, and I’m not convinced that Bannon wasn’t leaving room for the MSM to redefine themselves DOWN even more. God knows they do have that capacity. Just when you think they’ve got as low as can be they go lower.
So, NOW I’ve got Eddie Murphy in my head in that scene from “The Golden Child” freaking out yelling “THERE’S NO GROUND HERE!”

Compare how this media treats Trump to how it treated Obama when he was committing his blatant hardcore acts of treason. It’s utterly astounding how bias this media is. Nary a word about releasing terrorists from Gitmo effectively reinforcing the enemy or releasing 5 Taliban commanders for a defector to the enemy or financing terror via Iran by giving them $33 billion in cash or arming Al Qeda to take out the leader of a completely neutral country creating the refugee crisis destroying millions of lives and then sitting back as Al Qaeda used those weapons to kill 4 Americans at our embassy in Benghazi including a US Ambassador or allowing people to illegally enter the country and then flying them all over the USA 3 of which were MS-13 gang members who raped a 16 year old girl right near where I live. But Trump is the bad guy, even receiving calls for his impeachment from the likes of Maxine Waters and what is Trumps offense? He’s trying to put together his cabinet.
The Examiner seems to be identifying with their liberal media brethren as if sucking up to them will gain the Examiner acceptance with their inner circle.
He should be careful what he says about the press. I happen to think that the new mainstream press outlets called FreeRepublic, ZeroHedge, Breitbart, Drudge Report, and others tend to be pretty fair to the Trump White House. He definitely should try to keep a good relationship with them, though in the case of Breitbart they’re just going to have to accept that they aren’t going to have Bannon around much anymore as that’s part of the price of winning ;)
Now there are some dying press outlets that ought to just be allowed to die as they now represent a dying breed of extremists who are being left in the dustpan of history - i.e. CNN, New York Times, .....
