Homeland InSecurity: Former DHS Secretary & 3 Homeland Officials Pulled a Hillary Clinton
Freedom Outpost ^ | 2/14/2017 | Tim Brown

Posted on 02/15/2017 5:10:56 AM PST by HomerBohn

Though former Homeland Security Secretary and "voice of the plight of Muslims" Jeh Johnson didn't set up an illegal private email server like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did, he did use private, unsecured email to conduct official business and discuss sensitive matters, according to watchdog Judicial Watch.

According to 216 pages of documents, Johnson was not the only one who used unsecured emails to conduct official business and disclose sensitive material. Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Chief of Staff Christian Marrone, and General Counsel Stevan Bunnell were the other three employees of DHS who did the same thing.

Judicial Watch reports:

The documents include emails discussing high-level meetings Johnson was to have with the Kuwaiti ambassador and Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry officials, as well as a West African $4.5 million online consumer fraud scam.

The document production came in response to a May 23, 2016, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch after Homeland Security failed to respond to a December 29, 2015, FOIA request seeking emails “relating to official United States Government business sent to or from” Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and three other top Homeland Security officials that used “non-‘.gov’” email addresses (Judicial Watch, Inc., v. United States Department of Homeland Security (No. l:l6-cv-00967)).

This is the first production of emails sent through private, web-based email accounts of Johnson, Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Chief of Staff Christian Marrone and General Counsel Stevan Bunnell that were also sent to government email accounts.

The emails obtained revealed, among many things, the following:

•The Kuwaiti ambassador to the US sent an email to Johnson’s unsecure email account attempting to set up a meeting for him with Kuwait’s Interior Ministry and discussing Kuwait’s Interior Minister’s having meetings with the heads of CIA, FBI and DNI. •The US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia emailed to Johnson’s unsecure email account, discussing Johnson’s upcoming meetings at the Saudi Interior Ministry in Jeddah. •DHS Chief of Staff Marrone held sensitive discussions with an unidentified individual regarding the earnings of Lockheed Martin and a space vehicle launch consortium between Lockheed and Boeing, which the sender said to “use wisely.” Marrone also received procurement documents related to launch vehicles and their “Launch Infrastructure Capability.” •Johnson gave a “Progress Report” speech in which he cited the Homeland Security Department’s “strides in cybersecurity.” •An unidentified individual spoofed Johnson’s name and email account in a phishing scam, telling recipients that they could get money from “an abandoned fund worth U.S.D. 4.5 million in West Africa” if they would send back their personal details.

This is not all that has come out of the corrupt Obama Homeland Security. According to Judicial Watch, Secretary Jeh Johnson and 28 other agency officials used government computers to access personal web-based email accounts despite an agency-wide ban due to heightened security concerns, and Homeland Security officials misled Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) when Perry specifically asked whether personal accounts were being used for official government business.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said, “It is ironic and disconcerting that Secretary Johnson and his aides touted Homeland Security’s great ‘strides in cybersecurity’ while using unsecured, private, web-based email accounts that the Department had officially prohibited. The fact that the documents found in these email accounts were so heavily redacted and that Johnson’s name and email account were spoofed in a phishing scam is indicative of just how lax communications security was inside Homeland Security during the Obama administration.”

Democrats are criminally insane, not just reckless, but traitors guilty of high treason and crimes against the nation and its citizens . It should be obvious to all that these criminally insane, poor excuse for leaders are terrified of being held accountable for their heinous deeds in the past and are grasping for straws to get President Trump out before they find themselves swinging on those same gallows, the fear of which sent Hillary Clinton into a meltdown rant of: "if that f'ing bastard wins, we'll all be swinging from the gallows".

couldn’t have said it better myself.

I would think finding all those that 0bama purged in the military and at the highest civilian levels and bringing them back would be a good thing to do. For all I know it’s already being done.

Clearly, we need all hands on deck.

When one simply assumes Dhimmicrats and LIEberals hate the traditional way of life in America, and they want to destroy the West, then all of their actions are logical and consistent.

Looks like the new head of DHS has a lot of house cleaning to do.

When you have traitors in your midst, you will not be able to keep America safe .. because the traitors will be focused on safeguarding their own rear ends .. and not the safety of the American Citizens.

Loretta Lynch may be gone, but I’m sure there are many just like her embedded in all the places necessary to stall, disrupt and circumvent any possible investigations and prosecutions. These people should be tried for treason and sedition, then executed forthwith...............

It’s disturbing to read all these calls for death. What’s wrong with simply firing them?

Homeland Security seeks $41.2 billion budget for 2016
February 4, 2015 By BioPrepWatch Reports

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson announced a $41.2 billion budget request Monday for the 2016 fiscal year.

The budget would improve the unity of effort at the department, Johnson said, focusing on harmonizing DHS business processes. Along with the budget, a new Common Appropriations Structure was also submitted to Congress, which would standardize financial planning, programming and budgets for all DH agencies, Johnson said.

There are five areas the department focuses on each year, and the budget is in alignment with those five missions, Johnson said.

<><> The first mission is to prevent terrorism and enhance security in the country by implementing security for the land, air and at sea.

<><> The next mission is to secure and manage the countrys borders, and reduce the number of illegal immigrants and amount of contraband getting into the United States.

<><> The third mission includes enforcing and administering immigration laws and providing safe and secure detention of illegal immigrants in federal custody if they are a flight risk or a public safety concern.

<><> The fourth mission deals with safeguarding and securing cyberspace, which impacts economic security. The 2016 budget would invest in technology and staff to reduce cybercrime and improve the security of federal network defenses.

<><> The fifth mission, Johnson said, is to strengthen national preparedness and resilience so the country can prepare and respond to any type of disaster.

Johnson said before Congress approves any funding for the next fiscal year lawmakers should approve funding for the current year.

The Presidents FY 2016 Budget provides the resources necessary for the Department of Homeland Security to further strengthen our efforts to fulfill our wide-ranging missions, while also being agile and vigilant in the face of ever-evolving threats and recent world events, Johnson said. But prior to acting on the FY 2016 Budget, I urge Congress to fully fund DHS for the rest of this fiscal year, as the current continuing resolution is disruptive, creates uncertainty, and impedes efficient resource planning and execution.

State of Georgia says it's traced an attempted voter hack to the Department of Homeland Security;
Later found several more DHS voter database hacks

An IP address from the DHS agency was the source of an attempted breach of the state's voter registration database, according to Georgia's secretary of state.

By Michael Kan | PCWorld | U.S. Correspondent, IDG News Service|Dec 8, 2016

Georgia's secretary of state says the state was hit with an attempted hack of its voter registration database from an IP address linked to the federal Department of Homeland Security.

The allegation by Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp is one of the more bizarre charges to come up in the recent spate of alarms about voting-system hacks. He said in a Facebook post on Thursday that he had been made aware of the failed attempt to breach the firewall protecting Georgia's voter registration database. The attack was traced to an Internet Protocol address associated with DHS, he said.

“This morning I sent a letter to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson demanding to know why,” he said in the post.

The DHS said it had received the letter. “We are looking into the matter. DHS takes the trust of our public and private sector partners seriously, and we will respond to Secretary Kemp directly,” the department said in a statement.

The hacking attempt reportedly took place on Nov. 15, after the presidential election, according to the Wall Street Journal, which saw a copy of the letter.

“At no time has my office agreed to or permitted DHS to conduct penetration testing or security scans of our network,” Kemp wrote in his letter. “Moreover, your department has not contacted my office since this unsuccessful incident to alert us of any security event that would require testing or scanning of our network.”

Kemp is also asking if DHS has scanned any other states in the same way.

The hacking of local election systems in the U.S. was a major concern during this year’s presidential campaign. U.S. government agencies, including the DHS, had found evidence that hackers were probing state voter registration systems in the months preceding Election Day.

To prevent possible tampering, the DHS was working with some states on protecting their election systems. Among the services the agency was offering were "cyber hygiene scans.” These scans were conducted remotely and designed to identify vulnerabilities in election-related online systems, DHS said.

Reportedly, Kemp had been resisting election security help from the federal government. Kemp said he was worried that the Obama administration was exaggerating the cyber threat to intrude on the state's authority, according to Politico.

“I strongly believe that the U.S. Constitution mandates that the respective states manage the elections process," Kemp said in a statement in August. "I also believe it is important that every state and the federal government collaborate responsibly on best practices and the sharing of information."
