White House Puts Palestinians, United Nations in Crosshairs

The Trump administration sent shockwaves through the U.N. late last week when it took a stance against the appointment of a senior Palestinian official to serve in a top post overseeing Libya.

Senior officials at Turtle Bay expressed outrage over the Trump administration's move to block the appointment of former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad as a special U.N. representative for Libya. The move was widely supported by U.N. members, and, for a time, the Trump administration.

Sources inside the White House told the Free Beacon that the move was meant to send a signal to the Palestinians that they can no longer manipulate the U.N. system in order to bolster their international clout. This type of action, the sources said, undermines Israel and the ongoing peace process.

White House officials, as well as senior sources in Congress, told the Free Beacon that the move is part of a larger effort to solidify U.S. support for Israel and counter a range of last-minute moves by the former Obama administration aimed at severing U.S.-Israel ties.

The Free Beacon first reported earlier this year that the Trump administration and Congress had already been working on a range of measures meant to boost U.S. support for Israel at the U.N.

*snip*

"Pro-Palestinian officials at the U.N. thought they had found a clever way to mainstream the Palestinians as legitimate state actors, which is contrary to American policy and violates two decades of signed agreements between the Palestinians and Israel," said the source, who was not authorized to speak on record. "They figured that the Trump White House would be too worried about optics to take a stand on behalf of our Israeli allies. The White House refused to be intimidated."

I can quibble about a couple of things but overall I am very pleased with Trump. If he doesn’t lose focus, keeps doing what he’s doing, doesn’t let the hounds get to him, he may wind up being the best president in my lifetime.

But he is going to have a fight on his hands every day he is in office. Somehow he is uniquely qualified to handle that, though; I think he enjoys it.

Why are we still there? Why is the so-called UN still there?

The opposition media is Trump's new Rosie O'Donnell.

He's loving it.

He has to fight the left and the right. The GOP has been saying for years they have a better healthcare plan, and now they got nothing. And all of a sudden they can’t just lower the taxes.

Why is the U.S. still part of and funding the UN? Trump needs to defund that gaggle of lazy leaches who reside under the auspices of “peace keepers”.

Trump is what my football coach used to call a "hatchet man". I was lucky enough to be considered a hatchet man a few times in helping my high school team win.

Once, the football coach wanted me to go in to make some trouble with other team, specifically two players that were causing havoc with our plays. I complained that I would get called for a penalty or even kicked out of the game. His response was to go in and knock some heads and take a couple of guys for the other team out with me.

Not considered the finest athletic moves, I went into the game and started a fight with the two players and got kicked out of the game. But not before I got the two opposing players kicked out too. The coach congratulated me when I came off the field and we went on to win the game. Not just because of me but sometimes a team needs a hatchet man to help get the job done.

Winning isn't pretty sometimes but it's still a win. Trump is our "hatchet man".

We should not be the major financial supporter of the UN. They are nothing but a bunch of Israel and America haters.

The biggest change in direction of the USA happened back in June 5, 1968 when a PALESTINIAN IMMIGRANT shot Bobby Kennedy dead and America went into convulsions. I do believe he would have won over Nixon that year. That was the year the”powers that be” decided to wussify and dumb down the American Male.

Then in 1996, a Palestinian immigrant was granted entrance to the USA and the next year, 1997, shot up the Empire State Building observation deck killing one and wounding several others.

Better to have DJT as our hatchet man; drats have only straw men. (rock/paper/sissors)

From time remembered, the UN has had its foot on the neck of America and its hand in our pocket. They have never been seen as doing what was intended for good. A group of dented tin “dick-tators”. For over 50 years they have wished to break the US.

It can be argued a bigger change occurred when VP Lyndon B. Johnson had John F. Kennedy brutally murdered in front of hundreds of Americans.

Then RFK had to be killed or he would have exposed LBJ and J Edgar Hoover in their conspiracy. RFK's murder was just taking care of another loose end.

To those who claim to support Trump but have reservations because he doesn't act presidential or because his demeanor, his language, his tweets, his orange hair, his brashness, his....well...his being himself....miss one important thing.

Nowhere as far as my eyes can see to the horizon, do I see any other man or woman right now who could do what Trump has done. Against all odds, Trump ran the table against a slew of other experienced candidates, won the nomination and then won the election, seemingly by himself.

He was opposed by the media, the democRATS, his own party, the globalists, the Hollywierdos, the liberal educational institutions and anybody and everybody who counted him out numerous times. No one else that I am aware of, especially among establishment GOP politicians, could do what Trump is doing without withering from the onslaught of opposition and criticism.

We are lucky he is our man because no one else could stand the heat and fight back like he does.

Yes, we are so fortunate. For many years we did seek such a man; and none could be found. How many times were we disappointed to find we had nothing but an empty shell. DJT is filled with meat and a hard nut to crack.

We have been blessed.

Your story reminded me of Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. (where Tonya was involved in attempting to knock out Nancy Kerrigan by breaking her leg, or worse).

In this case, President Trump only needs to follow the law and common sense. Muslims are sworn by the Koran to kill, harass, and attack infidels. It is what they are commanded to do. Islam is NOT a religion, it is a violent cult meant to overthrow all other religions and get conversions by the sword.

Convert to Islam or be killed. Mohamed cannot return until the entire world is converted to Islam. There can be NO peaceful coexistence.

The anecdote did not remind of any incident like that. Not at all.

It just sounds like what we Australians call "a bit of biff on the field" - playing hard and making trouble. Doing anything to win. Being willing to be put out of the game, so your team can win.
