SURIGAO, Philippines – A powerful nighttime earthquake in the southern Philippines killed at least six people and injured more than 120, with officials combing through cracked buildings and nearby towns Saturday to check on the damage and other possible casualties.

The magnitude 6.7 quake roused residents from their sleep late Friday in Surigao del Norte province, forcing hundreds of people to flee their homes. The quake was centered about 16 kilometers (8 miles) northwest of the provincial capital of Surigao at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles), said Renato Solidum of the Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology.

It’s not up to other people to fulfill your religious needs-that’s up to YOU. If YOU put yourself into a situation in which YOU have no control over YOUR needs YOU effed up. Jail is jail. it isn’t church.

Huh? What does that have to do with an earthquake in the Philippines?

Surigao is a Christian province.
Just a few Moslems.

Haven't yet talked to my Family's in the area.

I am visiting California right now. My wife is in Davao, to the south of Surigao, and did not even mention the earthquake, when I talked to her. Sorry for Surigao, but Davao was not affected.

One of my families lives north of Butuan. That's not far from Surigao.

Another lives is Cebu. I am chatting with her live right now. They felt it, but not strong in Cebu City.

I had a Viber conversation with my wife again. She said they felt 4 tremors of about 15 to 20 seconds, in Davao, but no damage.
