A Canadian man who was found not criminally responsible for beheading and cannibalizing a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus has been granted his freedom.

Manitoba's Criminal Code Review Board announced Friday it has given Will Baker, formerly known as Vince Li, an absolute discharge, meaning he is no longer subject to monitoring.

Baker, a diagnosed schizophrenic, killed Tim McLean, a young carnival worker who was a complete stranger to Baker, in 2008. A year later he was found not criminally responsible due to mental illness.

No monitoring? So when he decides to stop taking his medication again, society will have no warning. And he will decide to stop taking medication again, because schizophrenics invariably do at some point.

The establishment wants to sow chaos and fear. It is easier to justify a police state if all the killers are free to roam.

Somebody buy him a bus ticket to Ottawa and have him dropped off at Trudeau’s doorstep. With a set of plates and cutlery.

Lock up the criminally insane. If they are unaccountable for their actions by reason of insanity, they should be required to have a legal guardian with them at all times.

How about a liberal judge handcuffed to the loony?

Schizophrenia is very treatable BUT the patient must remain compliant. Since we know what happens when he is not on his meds this is disastrous. At some point he will quit taking them because he will not be monitored.

A rational society would make a murder involving a mentally ill person an automatic death sentence.

Why on earth would we want to let mentally ill murderers continue living? Let alone set them free?

Canada has little respect for life. It sets free a murderer. When the savage does it again, the government of Canada will have full moral responsibility, which it will refuse to accept.

No surprise.
Conjugal relations with animals in Canada?
OK, as long as you don’t hurt your pet.

Nobody really understands the biochemistry of human thought or what really constitutes “responsibility” for behavior. In the final analysis an individual can only be judged by their actions. This man has put society on notice that he has performed and is capable of horrific actions. Releasing him is a foolish action implemented by people who are projecting on him their devout wishes and political narratives rather than evidential realism.

In the case of dangerous mental illness, there is a strong case to be made for keeping them locked up.

He is not mentally capable of understanding the crime of murder? Irrelevant. He is a danger to others. Plus, the symptoms of schizophrenia are only masked by drugs, they are not abolished. The danger from a schizophrenic who has already demonstrated homicidal tendencies will never be negated.

That degree of criminal insanity may not be in the long term.
I wouldn’t want that guy anywhere near me or anyone I knew.
Sometimes doctors and psychiatrists get carried away with their own presumed ability to know what a patient is capable of. It takes a special type of brain damage to literally tear an innocent person apart for delusional reasons. Practically speaking, it takes tremendous strength, compulsion and detachment.

The only way someone like this may (MAY) be rendered safe to have as a next door neighbor could be after the appropriate kind of lobotomy. They should simply send him back to China. Let him be China’s problem. All it would take for any Canadian is a quick Google search to find out who “Mr. Baker” really is.
