“... which is due to be turned on in 2018...”

I suppose there are all sorts of hazards during construction. I figured it was in operation and was a steam explosion.

More details there. An explosion resulting from an electrical problem started a fire? Resulting fan problem. Five people overcome by smoke. I think. No nuke risk.

According to initial reports there is no risk of contamination.

Was with the 8th SPS and guarded that dump on the night shift. It took many months to ship out all the unused munitions by rail. Enjoyed the place but didn’t care for the snakes.

..no....munitions squadron...cops had the kennels and veterinarians out there...no surprise with the
amount of goodies...we had to navigate that narrow
road going out to the main road with Thai trucks lined up parked along delivering munitions....2-300 trucks a week....but as a 20 year old it was a challenge..*smiles*

....eyep...crates,pythons,black...
ammo storage used to attract them because the iron bombs retain the heat from the day and they wanted to stay toasty anytime the temp dropped
below 70....*smiles*

Could be a hydrogen gas explosion” - H2 is recycled continuously inside the generators of the bigger power plants because it offers a better cooling gas flow with less air resistance than the usual 80-21% nitrogen-oxygen mix of air.

There are complex seals and oil filters to isolate the hydrogen (inside the generator) from the oil (inside the generator and turbine bearings) from the vacuum and steam (inside the turbine casings).

Sounds like a steam blast then. Bad news for anyone nearby when it happens.

This is early.
Right now the reactor plant administrators and the local gum’t will be in damage control mode issuing the standard, “nothing to see here, move along” messages.
We won’t know if this is significant or Izlam related for several days.
