Becerra vows to fight any effort by Trump to hold back money from CA over 'sanctuary cities'

Reacting to President Trump's threat to hold back funds from California if it becomes a so-called sanctuary state, Atty. Gen Xavier Becerra said Monday that he is willing to do legal battle over the issue if necessary. “There is no state that provides more funding to the federal Treasury than the state of California,” Becerra said at a press conference in Fresno. “We have a right to receive some of that funding back.”

Becerra said California will work with Congress and the federal government to properly serve citizens.

“But we will also fight, every way we can, to make sure that we get our fair share of money back,” Becerra said. “We will fight anyone who wants to take away dollars that we have earned and are qualified for simply because we are unwilling to violate the Constitution under these defective executive orders.”

Let him try. He is delusional. He shouldn't try this -- the people everywhere, including CA don't want all those illegals. Hopefully they will recall Becerra.

Oh, he will try it, he is as delusional and arrogant as most Leftists. The law and constitution mean nothing to them.

CITIZENS?

American taxpayers are not slaves to Mexican citizens or citizens of any other country for that matter.

They do not have a right to get their money back...their obligation is to follow the law.

They do not get to pick and choose.

If we have to bake their stupid cakes, they have to kick out their illegals.

One reason we have such a large deficit is funding sanctuary cities. Balance the budget and that source dries up.

The Fed can give California the taxes back. I assume it’s up to Sacramento as I foresee Trump being fought in the 9th circiut for four years.

................I’m not so certain. There are moves a foot in Congress to break up the 9th Circus and the clowns in the Circus don’t want that to happen. So, they may find a way to put a lid on their uber liberal tendencies on this one which they know they will ultimately lose anyway.

The CA case would have to be brought in the Supreme Court.
