LATEST LIBERAL LIE: Statue of Liberty is Modeled After Cloaked Muslim Woman

"The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World; French: La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States. The copper statue, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, a French sculptor, was built by Gustave Eiffel and dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was a gift to the United States from the people of France. The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad."

The statue was meant as a symbol of liberty and had nothing to do with immigration. Immigrants saw the statue in our harbor as they passed on their way to Ellis Island for entry processing. The statue is not on Ellis Island.

That was no complaint. I was just adding a couple other facts that many people seem to ignore, teachers and liberals in particular.

The artist had previously proposed a large statue in Egypt that would have been Muslim. That one was never built. As the article states, our Statue of Liberty is no way based on a Muslim.

Perhaps you are correct, but I recall that muslim ‘art’ never depicts a human being as that is something in the Koran or the Suras, I don’t remember which is a forbidden thing. And a Muslim statue of a Woman? My head explodes at that thought.

I doubt that's it. Liberals are captives of the marxist dialectic, which demands that the old order be destroyed before the new one can be implemented. Just another ridiculous statement than any rational American know is an outright lie.

There is a small farming village in my county that is populated with descendants of immigrants from Luxembourg. The only church is a Catholic church. In November 8, 2016 this village/precinct voted for Donald Trump by 81%. Hillary got about 16%.

It does not take an Ivy league degree to be able to identify such flagrant falsehoods, and also the malice behind such lies. The joke is on the liberals. Farm families have wisdom while leftists stick with their PC phoniness.

I heard the story on NPR. Apparently the artist was going to make a statue for the opening of the Suez Canal and based his plan on an Egyptian. It was never made.

That OBVIOUSLY means the Statue of Liberty was based on a Muslim figure.
