WASHINGTON, Feb 5 (Reuters) - A U.S. appeal court late on Saturday denied a request from the U.S. Department of Justice to immediately restore a immigration order from President Donald Trump barring citizens from seven mainly Muslim countries and temporarily banning refugees.

The court ruling dealt a further setback to Trump, who has denounced the judge in the state of Washington who blocked his Jan. 27 order on Friday. In tweets and comments to reporters, the president has insisted he will get the ban reinstated.

OK, I still don’t see anything that says the US HAS to let refugees in. Isn’t that still an immigration issue and doesn’t the US still have the authority to vett each imigrant? There just can’t be this ban for now.

The judge is playing Calvin Ball while we are playing baseball. The judge has no limits on his behavior while we appeal, through proper process, to his ilk. Right there WE LOSE. So far Trump is allowing a nobody to talk eye to eye to him and usurp his own power.

You all won’t want to hear this but the judiciary is an elite club and they don’t like Trump criticizing the judge after what they view as a high minded Constitutional ruling. These liberal judges see Trump as a racist who they will rein in.

How far the U.S.A. has fallen down the downward spiral of decay since the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor!

Can President Trump pull her back up and into the light? It depends upon the will of non-decadent, sane Americans to overcome the madness of the decadents.

Our fight is as righteous and as vital as was the fight of our fathers against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.

Our enemy is far more dangerous: the decadence of Western Civilization and our own citizens who are overwhelmed and driven into madness by it.

If I remember correctly, Rudy was advising Trump on this and I'm certain Sessions. Probably a half dozen advisors.

Go back to the campaign....Ted Cruz said this was the way to do it to remove the religious factor....just say the countries.

Schumer must be grinning ear to ear....He calls it a win....for whom I ask?? This is OUR country. WE hold the keys to the door...until some judge takes them away??

“And Trump and a Sessions DOJ will find ways to overcome the opposition.”

There will be no Sessions DOJ until we can get a 5-4 USSC. In other words, April/May!

I read and watched quite a bit about the pre-Nazi legal system and what happened to it in Hitler's rise to power.

It was essential for him to destroy the basis and integrity of German law and subvert it into beliefs of superiority of some manner, shape or form. This required debasing and diminution of Jews and other undesirables (in their eyes).

This really isn't any different than what Democrats have done with our judicial system by making judicial appointments of judges who share an eerily similar camaraderie with those quisling German Judges of yesteryear.

It is my firm belief if genocide were to actually start in this country, it would be by Democrats. They would be no better than the Nazis who knelt the victims beside a ditch and blew their brains out.

If we get hit, they will minimize the hit, and say we imported a million and only one was a terrorist.

I have friends that laugh off the two Somalian knife attacks, and say you can’t call it a terrorist attack.

But, if we get a massacre where Muslims target conservatives, we have a whole new ballgame.

Exterminating the enemy will be a duty to self preservation with an admission that the government has failed in its most basic reponsibilty. Gloves off.

Worth reading. We take 2/3 of world’s resettled refugees. UN selects them. Our government agencies do vett them. After admission they are passed off to nonprofits. They can become permanent in a year, citizens in 5.

It’s not right but it’s reality. Probably Obama’s attacks weren’t fine with the conservatives like Alito. Judges take judicial independence seriously and of course liberals are obnoxious.

"In other words: if Trump had made his order prospective rather than retroactive, and had left already issued visas alone, he could have tightened up the vetting process going forward while the legacy issues self-corrected over time."

Yes. And there were voices arguing for a less explosive EO. But Steve Bannon, from what I have read, wanted to do it this way. And he got the storm he wanted. It was a virtual certainty that some liberal judge, somewhere, was going to rule against the administration. Bannon is a very smart guy so this was not badly executed or unintentional. My question is -- why did he do it?

According to Rasmussen, 57% of likely voters favor a temporary ban on refugees from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen until the government improves its ability to screen out potential terrorists. It's not an unpopular EO, except among those who it should be unpopular with.

Yes, but the requirements to pass out a SC nomination are more stringent than with an Attorney General.
