MALCOLM Turnbull thought he could outsmart Donald Trump and trap him into taking 1250 of our boat people.
Huge mistake, and now he’s been humiliated.
There is no surprise that an angry Trump attacked Turnbull in their call at the weekend and hung up halfway through, after just 25 minutes.
What did Turnbull expect?
This political disaster was always on the cards from the moment Turnbull announced, on November 13 last year, that he’d signed a deal with then US president Barack Obama to take our boat people detained on Nauru and Manus Island.
That was very dumb because just five days earlier Trump had been unexpectedly elected the next president, having campaigned hard against exactly this kind of thing.
Trump had made it perfectly clear that he was against taking in alleged refugees from jihadist countries without at least “extreme vetting”. Turnbull knew this. In fact, he’d planned to announce his Obama arrangement early this year, but after Trump’s win rushed it forward in an apparent attempt to present Trump with a fait accompli — a done-deal the new President would not dare undo.
Trump had no choice but to back off. The Post had reported him accusing Turnbull of wanting to send him more “Boston bombers”, and he could hardly now tell the American voters he was happy to take them.
So Trump instead tweeted: “Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!”
Turnbull has a very nervous wait now to see if his boat people “solution” will survive. He’s also learned a very hard lesson: don’t try messing with Trump.

In fact at around 10:45, finally, the interviewer is trying to get the reporter to state that Trump's team leaked the conversation. He wouldn't say that.
IN SHORT, TURNBULL LEAKED THE CONVERSATION TO THE PRESS. IT LOOKS LIKE THIS WILL BACK FIRE ON HIM, BUT TRY TO FIND A US MEDIA OUTLET TO REPORT THIS STORY ACCURATELY.
In fact, on Fox News last night, they were trying to imply that someone in the Trump organization leaked the story. Again trying to undermine the loyalty of Trump's people.
Social Media gives the world the opportunity to learn the truth about everything.

Yesterday, on Fox and friends, Steve Ducey asked Kellyanne Conway who Sprung the leak, but she wouldn’t say. Ducey then asked if it was someone from the state department, and she just smiled and said something like figure it out for yourselves. Since she didn’t deny it was the State Dept. Fox News speculated for most of the day that it was someone from State.
It was not until Special Report did I hear anyone (Chris Stirewalt) speculate that it was Australia that leaked.
I’m still thinking that it was State Dept since Conway didn’t deny it was them when she was asked.
Someone, I think it was Kellyanne, confirmed yesterday that the leaks are not coming from the White House—they have their stuff together. She said straight up that the leaks were coming from State.
I'm not so sure I would think that way. Remember that Trump, including the senior members of his campaign, disdain to act like typical politicians. Sometimes, saying nothing when asked a question is a way to get the inquisitor to reveal something about what they know.
The media has gotten very, very lazy. Trump has challenged them to do their jobs, which AP/CNN/etc. seem to beieve means "making sh$t up". At least Fox asked a question, received no answer, then speculated - not reporting as fact, but as unconfirmed information.
AS usual, we don’t know, but from the reading of this article and listening to the interview, it is clear to me that the call was leaked from Trunbull’s group, as he thought he could man handle Trump that way, and make him look bad.
Problem is, Trump is a transparent guy, and turned the tables on Turnbull, saying he’d honor the deal, but let him know that it was chicken sh*t on Turnbull’s part the way he did it, and the way it was kept quiet.
Also, Turnbull leaks it to the Washington Post of all places.
I honestly don’t think Kellyanne knew, but how would the state dept know, if they were not in the room?
IOWs, it sounds like Trump’s people are solidly with him, and are not going to leak anything, unless Trump wants it leaked.
This is not going to go down well.
THE BOTTOM LINE TO ME IS, THAT YOU CANNOT FIND THIS STORY ANY WHERE.
I heard on Fox that later Trump quietly told Trunbull that he would accept the “boat people.” It seems as if the agreement that Zer0 made with Australia was cast in stone and Trump could not back out of it. Is this correct?

First of all, the revelation that Turnbull made the deal after the US election totally exposes what a worm this guy is. And yesterday we have idiots like McCain apologizing to him and Mark Levin bashing Trump for trashing the relationship with such a great ally like the Aussies. They should know what a snake Turnbull is to make a deal like that with a jag like Obama.
The deal needs to be rescinded. Make an example of what happens to those that want to take advantage of America by dealing dirty
