There was other things Australia needed to discuss with the leader of the free world. Their adherence to self-destructive progressive leftism has now precluded that opportunity.

One of the reports said that John McCain called the Australian ambassador to discuss the call.
I think the contact probably went the other way. To embarrass Trump and pressure him to take the refugees that Australia wants to get rid of, I think the Prime Minister had his ambassador call John McCain and leak the contents of the call to him. McCain or his office contacted WaPo and other media outlets.
Doesn’t this sound like the most likely source?

I wouldn’t have put it quite that way in the interests of diplomacy, but if these refugees Australia is sending our way are mostly Muslim, then yes, it is a bad deal.
