Be honest this is something I was hoping for but didn’t dare dream Trump by his actions commands respect I think anybody knows that if he gives his word he’s going to do something he will do it..

I hope Trump does meet with them! If anyone can negotiate with gang leaders, he can. Would love to see this. History in the making. And go ahead and meet with the North Koreans and Iranians, too. I trust Trump and believe in his ability to meet and relate to anyone. This dude is golden. Love it.
I know I am going to get grief for this post...but here goes!
I have done inner city ministry with gang members and many of them came out of horrific situations that most of us cannot imagine (Not excusing their behavior but just stating a fact that needs to be said) Some of them would actually like a different, better life, both for themselves and for their families. If they are willing to reach out to President Trump, thru Pastor Scott, Ben Carson, etc to look for solutions, then we need to be applauding and supporting those efforts!
No one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE, is beyond the grace of God...I know several amazingly gifted pastors who came out of gangs and the prison system. Let’s try to work with anyone who is willing to come to the table without denigrating them before we’ve even heard what they have to say, please!
The Democrats have sat idly by while the inner cities of America have been destroyed. It is the worst kind of racism to insinuate that the people themselves are not capable of improving their neighborhoods but need government to take care of them...Let’s be different - let’s be better!!

The killing can be drastically dropped, if the people in the neighborhoods believe that the police will arrest actual violent and murderous people, but not haul people off to jai for minor things, or make up corrupt charges.
It does not happen all at once, but change can happen. The rule of law must be restored, and it must be consistent over time or everything tends to revert back to gangs.
Much of the problem in Chicago is the system is corrupt, and everyone knows it.
To be a top thug that lasts more than a day or two you must fear what happens if the US Marines come in to straighten you out.
You would have to want to lose if you don’t fear such an action.
They don’t need a sit down with Trump. If they truly wanted to lower killings, they wouldn’t kill. Simple as that.
I’m with you. I also have spent plenty of time working in some of these kinds of places, and some of the older ex-gang members are absolutely ripe candidates for exercising maybe the only kind of leadership that can truly bring about a change in the behavior of these kids. It’s a dangerous thing though because it’s not easy to separate those who are truly seeking redemption and those who are just looking for another hustle. But I have faith that if anyone can make this happen, it will be Donald J. Trump and his team.
They can have a gangland version of The Apprentice where contestants vie for a federal job. In Week 1, contestants wash, scrub and paint over graffiti in war-torn Chicago...
They also need jobs, or job training. I’m not talking school, I’m talking trade school. Plumbers, electricians, welders, concrete workers. I heard Caterpillar is thinking of moving to Chicago,
I hope he does meet with them, with some of the men who met with him at Trump Tower
