My goodness, those evil Russians are certainly clever. By pretending to mind their own business no one will believe they hacked Trump's pen and added Muslims to the order.
Except for that Bolshevik Unpleasantness, the US has always had cordial relations with Russia. One reason is that we’re so far apart, we don’t pi$$ each other off due to our proximity. Another is that one tough, hardy people respects another.

If I remember my very limited Russian history:
They believe themselves to be the saviors of civilization (via the Byzantine empire) from the dark ages...which later morphed into saving the world via Communism.
Perhaps now, with global Jihadists everywhere, you’re correct.
The Soviets were enemies of freedom everywhere. Only Islam could rival Communism for brutality. I suppose next you might question if ISIS is so bad!
Too bad that Dubya and Baraq didn’t adopt this same position regarding other countries that they just had to meddle into.

I’m pleased that Putin has done so much in Russia to bring back Christianity and support the church and marriage. Putin has moved the country away from Communism and the population likes it, even though he is dictatorial.
The country is not wealthy, because they have to maintain a formidable military presence to ensure China/Norks don’t attack.
An alliance between Russia and the US might be beneficial (in spite of the fact that McCain and Graham would go nuts!).

“were” is the operative word.
They are no longer the Soviets. ....Amerinds were extremely brutal once, also. Cultures change.
I said Soviets, not Russians. However, the Russians do have a 1,000 year history of expansionism. Look at a map sometime - Russia is by far the largest country on earth. Europe would be right to be concerned.
