What are we to think of our new president?
Well, first, its only been a week.
Second, many of us already know what we think, knew going in, and havent changed our minds.
But, third, wow. Between jobs meetings, executive orders, trip to Philly, war with media, talking torture and the wall, phone time with Vladimir Putin, AND roiling the immigrant and refugee world with U.S. entry bans, Week One was a whirlwind.
First impressions depend where you stand.
Those more or less on board go with English proverbs: First impressions are the most lasting, meaning were in for an Energizer Bunny incumbency of drum-beating and constant movement to get good things done.
Others may like the view of Franz Kafka: First impressions are always unreliable, noise and activity dont translate into good things getting done, or, oh my God, our futures Kafkaesque.
Lets review.
Meetings with business and labor leaders on jobs, wages, and making things in America with American workers were encouraging first steps. If Trump creates or saves jobs, no matter what you think of him, thats good, right?
Business honchos have an ally in cutting corporate tax rates and federal regulations. And union leaders at least were at the table.
(Though I bet Democrats where banging their foreheads on their tables, thinking, "Oh, great. Another part of whats left of our coalition tempted into Trumpland.") [continued]

Trump is already my favorite president EVER.
Awesome. Fun to wake up and see what he’s gonna do next.
I’m not impressed. I want to see liberals jump off roofs. Not throw a hissy faggy fit.
That will be the Halloween candy of LibRats an SnowFlakes alike.
It’s been an exhilarating 9 days so far, but my productivity is down—I’ve got to check in through the day as to what he has announced, and I’ve even found myself clocking in for a couple of Spicer’s pressers.
To quote the 80s rock group Loverboy, “I’m loving every minute of it”
I don’t expect him to slow down, but the next objectives will require him to work with congress so it is inevitable that the pace will slow, if not the energy.
Best presidency of my lifetime & Truman was my first.
They already do put charge black market prices
I love it! He’s so YUGEly great!
100%... So far.
Too much win. I fear it may become habit forming.
/sarcasm
I’m enjoying him just fine. I’m not enjoying the hysteria and non stop “protesting”. Guess what? Most Americans hate the media and these protestors too. It’s fatigue beyond belief. Trump’s win was partially because of these paid agitators and their globalist billionaire filth Soros funding them.
I love the smell of winning, it smells like victory!
Hillary don’t surf.
Kind of nervous. Chances for a let down are pretty high after a week like this. Can he keep up the pace?
The Left can protest until they are blue in the face. The fact is that Trump will double down. Borders are being made secure and immigration laws are being enforced. There is little doubt that Obama’s people gave out visas to “refugees” like candy in the final days of his misrule.
Im loving EVERY SECOND OF IT
