It is as if disgraced public figures spend a few years inside a helmet breathing the atmospheric gasses of their home planet only to re-emerge with some ‘higher purpose’. Al Gore did this after his humilating defeat in 2000.

For something this “historic” regarding Dan Rather I would expect a siren. Not a Drudge siren ... but an ambulance siren.
