Rep. Barbara Lee (D., Calif.) accused Congressional Republicans on Tuesday of wanting women to die from “unsafe abortions” while she spoke in opposition to H.R. 7.
“Madam Speaker, I rise in strong opposition to H.R. 7. This discriminatory bill would undermine a woman’s access to abortion care, which is a Constitutional right, as affirmed by Roe v. Wade, 44 years ago,” Rep. Lee said.
Lee said that by Republicans making the Hyde Amendment permanent, they would be “restricting access“ to reproductive health care for millions of women, especially low-income and minority women. The Hyde Amendment prevents federal funds from being allocated towards the funding of abortions.
Lee then recalled her days working as a staffer on Capitol Hill where she remembered the days of back-alley abortions.
“Clearly, Republicans are trying to take us back to the days when women died from unsafe abortions in this country,” she said. “Women should be able to make their own decisions about reproductive health care, including abortions, without members of Congress or employers interfering.”
We don’t want babies to die because mommy wont keep her knees together.
Simply make a back ally abortion a major felony.
Someone should show the footage of an actual partial-birth abortion on the floor of the House and Senate. To get it in the record and force these goons to see what they support.

I still want to make a SciFi movie about a ProLife activist who takes a Time Machine back to visit with the mothers and grandmothers of today’s rabid abortion advocates.
Film the female ancestors reading & watching the ranting of their progeny, then ask if they would consider listening to their arguments and abort the rabid “ProChoicer”?
The ProLife lady returns to the Present and shows the film to the Abortion Advocate, telling them “I left your mother/grandmother just before she made the decision to abort. If I leave within 30 minutes, I can arrive back in time to tell her you’ve publicly changed your mind, and talk her out of it.
Otherwise, as we Time Travelers say, “Pffft - you’re history. Actually, you never would have been, so that’s not exactly accurate.”
