“Didnt Trump transfer ownership of all his properties to his sons?”
No. I believe he resigned as chairman of his companies.
“The legal team filing the lawsuit includes Laurence H. Tribe, a Harvard constitutional scholar; Norman L. Eisen, an Obama administration ethics lawyer; and Erwin Chemerinsky, the dean of the law school at the University of California, Irvine. Among the others are Richard W. Painter, an ethics counsel in the administration of George W. Bush; Mr. Gupta, a Supreme Court litigator who has three cases pending before the court; and Zephyr Teachout, a Fordham University law professor and former congressional candidate who has been studying and writing about the Emoluments Clause for nearly a decade.”
All people who my Lawyer/Bartender friend can run circles around.
But, what about all that tobacco and whiskey George Washington sold worldwide while he was President?
Trump has already said any profit gained from a foreign government in his hotels will be given to the US Treasury.
He could have turned over all his companies to Michael Moore and they’d still be complaining. It’s a no win.
Furthermore, there's this: "Trump plans to donate hotel profits from foreign government payments to U.S. Treasury."

GASP!
Foreigners are staying at Trump hotels!!!
This must be stopped!!!
This is getting mo’ funner every day.
...........no, but it’s not risk free...........if a judge found the lawsuit frivolous they COULD be “sanctioned” meaning the judge can charge all expenses and all Trumps atty fees against the various attorneys that filed the suit.
This is a figment of the Liberals fantasies and is destined to go nowhere and enrich a bunch of lawyers.
A team of prominent constitutional scholars, Supreme Court litigators and former White House ethics lawyers HAHAHAHA An argument from authority (Latin: argumentum ad verecundiam), also called an appeal to authority, is a common type of argument which can be fallacious, such as when an authority is cited on a topic outside their area of expertise or when the authority cited is not a true expert.[1]
Carl Sagan wrote of arguments from authority:
One of the great commandments of science is, “Mistrust arguments from authority.” ... Too many such arguments have proved too painfully wrong. Authorities must prove their contentions like everybody else.[2]
