GOP senators: Give states the option of keeping ObamaCare

Two Republican senators on Monday unveiled the outlines of an ObamaCare replacement plan that they hope would be able to attract some Democratic support.

The plan, from Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Susan Collins

(R-Maine), contains less drastic changes than some Republican proposals. It envisions keeping many of ObamaCare’s taxes in place in order to provide revenue for the replacement plan and gives states the choice of whether they want to keep ObamaCare.

Under the plan, known as the Patient Freedom Act, state legislatures would have the choice of whether to keep ObamaCare operating in their states, complete with its subsidies, mandates and protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

Why not? States rights. Isn’t that what the GOP is all about? As long as the states pay for it too

What’s this, Freedom Lite?

How bout the real thing? If you want to make it optional to retain EbolaScare, then the option should be person-by-person, not state-by-state. There are normal people (i.e. conservatives) in states run by fascist tyrants elected by people in the large cities in those states. They deserve as much protection as anyone in a real state.

Kill it.

If any particular state out there is in love with it they’re free to resurrect it on the state level.

Does it kill the unconstitutional mandate or not? That is the main thing for me.

Would individuals and businesses in those states be able to opt out and purchase insurance across state lines?

Why not? Because the taxes are set at the federal level. I do not wish to support states that wish to keep this fiasco going.

No. No. No.

I do not want ANY mandates left over from this ACA crap.

Kill the ACA. Kill it with fire.

If the states want something like it, let them initiate new legislation on their own and see if the people of their state want it.

#13, exactly. So 48 states opt out and Calipornia and NY stay in.

The rest of the Country ends up paying for expanded coverage including Criminal invaders and their spawn?

Nah, I don’t think so.

Fail. When it was passed in the dark of night it robbed ALL Americans of their liberties. Now when it is repealed ALL Americans must be liberated.

keeping the taxes in place?

NONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!

we are trying to restore the American economy, not keep snuffing it out

and if a state wants to “keep Obamacare” it can just copy the Obamacare law .. there’s nothing preventing a state from doing that
